Who decided this was a good idea??? What is wrong with the world?

The "knockout game" is one of many names given to assaults in which, purportedly, one or more assailants attempt to knock out an unsuspecting victim, often with a single sucker punch, all for the amusement of the attackers and their accomplices.

There is much wrong with the world. Thanks to the media and entertainment industry, our youth has been subjected to all sorts of violence merely for entertainment. We are approaching a depraved society. It will only get worse so prepare yourselves.

Violence has long been a part of human entertainment, for all ages. That part is nothing new.

The entertainment industry in it's modern day format may be different, but there has long been an industry in entertaining people by use of violence.

How many actual attacks are on record in the US? I'm honestly very curious about the fact/sensationalism ratio.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but it seems like this same thing has been the big scare before. Maybe just a few years ago...

Can't comment on this knockout game, but "Happy Slapping" was one of the similar "games" that happened/happens over here. The "aim" wasn't a knockout punch but to simply beat someone up (or run past and slap them) while being recorded doing it (bright sparks, aren't they). Saw it happen a few times in my younger days, was disturbingly common in high school.

Saw it happen a few times in my younger days, was disturbingly common in high school.

When I was in Middle school our big "fad" was sneaking up on people and punching them in the kidneys. Fun fun.
