I have now realized this and am evaluating it more in depth so I can avoid such women in the future... I got the feeling an hour long dinner would be knock-down-drag-out arguments about basic things.

The sad part is that I understood exactly everything being said in that article, and I'm not even trained in philosophy. I think postmodernism is a good thing to have around to keep the metanarratives from gaining too much momentum, but at the end of the day, you're just staring into the endless void of nothingness. You don't have to go become a hardcore positivist, but sometimes you just have to accept some form of small t truth as an axiom to do anything practical in the world.

Now, I can be a bit of a post-structuralist, which is postmodernism's close cousin.
