I know a lot of grad students, and the majority of them aren't on welfare. In fact, I can't think of a single one who is on welfare...unless you consider Stafford loans and the stipend from a graduate assistanceship "welfare." Graduate school implies that you already hold an undergraduate degree. These people aren't generational reliefers. If that's too anecdotal, I'm sure statistics would back this up.

Bananawik has a history of giving these outrageous social commentaries on how feminism and affirmative action are ruining the world. He backs his claims up with exactly 0 amount of evidence. Unless everything he says is just satirical and none of us can pick up the sarcasm...ya know, Poe's Law 'n all.

I would guess each of those "know-it-alls" wants a job and wants it bad; it's probably just the nature of the classroom rat-race. They might see it as, "if I miss my chance to demonstrate, I'll fall behind."

I think it has to do with the fact you're in a paralegal program. Most people I've met in law programs have an attitude/ego problem. I even dated one of them crazies

I was getting to know a girl recently who was in the law program at a local Uni., she always apologizes for everything...which is strange, because I tried to explain to her she uses the word "sarcastic" wrongly and she went on a short bender. She was happy not knowing that she was using the word "sarcastic" wrong - in fact, she thought it o.k. to modify the definition in order to fit her conception. I was left a bit confused.

My cousin was actually on welfare when he was in grad school. He collected something like $250 a month in food stamps. When he was done, he requested they remove him and West Virginia refused to stop his payments and kept giving them to him. They are very efficient down there it seems.
