Wow. That's a really great design and some beautiful wood. I can't wait to see this finished.

Here's what I've been up to over the last couple of weeks... the body has been drilled for the pots and the control cavity has been routed. As for the neck... the scarf joint is done, the truss rod/carbon rod slots are routed and the fretboard is slotted.

The headstock veneers have now been attached and the neck has been routed to shape, the carbon rods have also been glued in. More updates coming soon...cheers

After gluing the fretboard on this afternoon I decided to make the most of my spare time and made a truss rod cover, it's cut from the excess of the Ebony fretboard, so the grain matches nicely.

The fretboard has now been trimmed flush, and the tuner holes drilled. Next week I'll make a start on the inlays (stainless steel dots), and shaping the neck

The inlays are done and the fretboard has been radiused I suggested to Dan we use stainless steel for both the fret markers and side dots, 1.5mm for the side dots and 4mm for the fret markers, which Dan choose to have inlayed on the 7th, 12th, 19th & 24th frets. I'll be taking some neck measurements and profiles from one of Dan's basses later this week, then I'll make a start on shaping.
