Kringle77 sealed 2x12 video

They do! Probably better but, its twice the moving mass too.

Well then, here's another idea. Already knowing that the two cabs play nicely together it seems like one could conceivably make a one cabinet hybrid version: beta12a top (1/2 sealed), 3012 bottom ported (1/2 hurtful). You could adjust the shelf divider to give the proper volume in each, basically half that for each cabinet type. Hurtseal maybe? :D

Yup. Now, I really like these cabs but, if you have played the ampeg svt210av cabs and they are not your thing, these cabs won't be your thing either. A tb'er had LDS build him one and it wasn't what he wanted. So, just because I like something doesn't mean that everyone should get out the woodworking tools and follow me down the rabbit hole. That being said, I still like using my ported hurtful 2x12 and it is probably the better gig cab on it's own. And, I still like trying other cabs as well.

@kringle77 Chris, I’ve kept this cab in mind for years now and just got a smokin deal on a Beta 12 so in the next month or so I’m going to build one of these.

Aside from reading the thread, any other advice?

Thanks!

If I do 16x 16x 26.5, by my calculations, I should get just over 3 cubic feet. So just adding 1 inch to the width and depth.

What will that do to the tone, response, etc? Thanks in advance.

@kringle77
I got my parts, I guess I was expecting screws to come with, but no. What do you use for the handle, corners, etc.? I can get to a local hardware store.

@kringle77
Do I just drill a hole in the brace so the wiring can pass? Leave it open or silicon it with the wire in place to stop rattling around?

The Jasper jig did not fit my router even though it said it was compatible. I came up with this, lol.

I’ve got the brace clamped with the front and back now, more this weekend.

Cut the holes for the handle and speaker cup. Spray painted the baffle black. I have one coat of Duratex on but no pics yet. I haven’t decided on a grill option, really not a fan of those circle metal ones.
