It belonged to an old man from Ohio, he bought is in 1989 and it is barely used it... it's in almost mint condition.

Yep...time to sell some basses. I emailed the guy in Austin about a trade...ain't gonna happen. Not that it matters now Drumsnbass, but where in VA did you find one? I haven't seen one in this area in ...forever.
Fodera makes what it essentially mirrors some of the EX Factor concept. 86 Red EX Factor. Thoughts? Drops to B instead of D I believe.

So I've been playing (if that's what you call what I do) my Kubicki this evening. Actually trying to learn walking jazz chromatic note transitions. Making headway, too!
Anyway, just a few observations:
1) my 4 string ability sucks major. I have been spoiled by 5 strings since day one, and rarely use open strings. The Kubicki is 'teaching me a lesson' or two...
2) I like to sit on an adjusting stool and the ergonomics of this bass are just incredible compared to anything else. It just kind of folds into your body. Phil must have put a lot of thought and experimentation into the body design. This is incredible for seated practice.
3) it is far less 'forgiving' of a light touch compared to my favorite MVP5. I have a new set of Kubicki nickels on there (which feel nice). There's no getting away with uneven pressure on the D/G strings. They fade away fast.
4) I can't slap but I can tell from lame attempts this bass was designed to be slapped, and hard. The E has a great bounce to it.
5) feels like there is no neck. No dive, no balance issues -- just stays there!
This, or perhaps some other one day, will always be a 'keeper'. I think if more people tried one, especially seated, they be pretty hot commodities.

That Fodera looks just like a detuner on a headless Bass. I would not consider the Kubicki feature as a detuner since the string stays in relative tune with the others. It is more like a selectable nut or a built in capo. No other system out there eliminates the need to transpose like the Kubicki system.
Just grabbed this yesterday totally mint. Can't find a flaw. Just finished the first home session after a few tweaks. Truss rod- nice,smooth, positive, fine adjusting action. Lowered the saddles- again perfect torque on each. Neck strait as an arrow. Could've slammed the strings if I wanted (actually kind of tried) but I like low to medium action. Could not get it to buzz. Tuners- perfect, same smooth torque action. Volume pots knobs etc. clean & clear.Color is a blue metallic flake. Can't get the right light in here but it's like 5 flake colors very sparsely and evenly laid out. Red, purple, gold, etc. it was advertised as BLACK but my jaw dropped when I saw the real color. Couldn't have been more pumped. Love it. Got it playing the balls!!! Totally psyched..

It's the one I wrote about on the previous page. Net basically. Constant, long exhausted searches. It was at a music store. Guys were totally professional. Bass was in the condition they described. It was easy for them. Virtually unplayd. It's one on the only Phil builds I've come across. Probably paid $200 more than I should've but despite the evidence of the recent finds on here, a mint Kubicki is hard to find. Christ I'll spend $200 on strings and other BS in no time. Like I said when you see one in great condition the price holds much less significance..
BTW- I prefer the hot lighter colors as well. I soooo want an orange one to add to the family. If you saw my other attachment..
This one followed me home today.......FCS in overall in great shape but the pre was swapped out with the 18v version and is a little buggy. I will be checking in as I sort it out.
