They've been in that $ territory for a while - for one in perfect condition w/OHSC, that is a fair price. Yes, in the '90s I bought & sold a few for under $1500, but that was a long time ago.

That's a good question. (and this one has the 9v system as the FCS version did)
Really no question. A 90 with a 9V board simply cannot be anything other than Fender shop.
I didn’t even read the listing. What’s the discrepancy? No stamp? Means nothing. Necks get swapped etc. you’ve heard all the stories I’m sure. There was a lot going on with Kubicki and his “support staff” at Fender in 90.
Grape burst? Man I’ve only seen one. It wasn’t perfect. Played,,, but it was spectacular.
Yeah man, the one I've lusted after was actually the flip-flop one. It may have been one of Stu Hamm's basses. Not entirely sure. Frustratingly, I can't even find the pic of it that I KNOW I saved somewhere. My last online search was also no bueno.

the one image I’ve seen that was the true grape burst was like a candy. Not super beat but scratched to $hit. Most of those glossy candy finishes were susceptible to it.

No FCS stamp. Who knows... I nearly bought one in the late '90s at GC in that finish. They had two - the other one was in Sonic blue pearl, which I bought.

the first 500 +/- FCS units were equipped with the 18V board and weren’t stamped as I’m sure you’re privy to. I’ve got an Ivory 89 that falls into this era. 90 though? Much past the cut off and nearly impossible it was made by Phil.
Edit: Phil spent much of not all of his time working on Key factors and the few 5 strings he made in 90. I’d be surprised if he made even one ExFactor that year.

what are those black plates by the tuners? Is that some kind of mod? Sorry, I’m kinda unschooled in these.
if you go to the listing and look at some of the body photos there are two black plates by the tuners. Maybe it’s just a stand?

I've got a '92 in Grape Burst. Phil told me he made just ten in that color. Probably not my preferred color, but I've been very happy with the instrument.
