Kubicki rescue!!!!!

Actually the finish is great! I'm sure its a nice hard poly finish. It should be really close to how it looked originally. I'm gonna have a local luthier hit it with a buffer and some compound when Im done doing the grunt work...

Just found out today that my old Kubicki is up for sale in the UK, I hope it goes to an appreciative owner!

Well actually, the new owner of it is selling it on, he was only open to trades for basses after the Stauts failed to move for ages, and so the Kubicki is excess to his needs! But still, no, mine was an Ex-Factor model, not a Key Factor.

I'm really glad its not bedliner! That stuff is resistant to oil and water so getting it off would have been near impossible!!!

Not if the surface isn't prepped correctly. By the looks of the finish of the bass, it looks like they didn't scuff the paint so the bedliner could adhere properly. I found that out on my truck when I was able to peel the liner off the tailgate because it wasn't scuffed up enough. Great score!

No kidding! I ain't saying its coming off easy but at least its coming off...

So here's an update... Finally pretty much got her finished. I still need to string and set it up but I'm very pleased! Believe it or not once I got the rough stuff off I used Magic Eraser to remove the residue. This stuff is awesome!!! Bass looks real nice. I scratched the finish in a couple places but its a small price to pay for the result I think!... I'll let you know how it sounds and plays...I'll also take some better pics for ya...
