Yeah, I would agree with that. It's a little too paddle-y to me. It must be hard to come up with a new headstock design that follows some tradition but doesn't infringe on any copyrights.

The Sadowsky blend kinda makes sense if you look at it like a tone knob. Brighter one way, deeper the other. So, it does the same thing tone-wise as a passive tone knob. When we want the neck pickup we want a deeper sound, we really don't care which pickup that comes from. So maybe backwards isn't?

Call me bi-directional, but I get the logic of the Sadowsky orientation. However, it's a nuisance if you're hopping along with other basses don't spin the same way...

Should add that I have an Offset 5 with reverse-P, that is an absolute delight. Not often taking it out the door for the usual cover band gigs, but that may change soon.

There is no bad taste, but when I start my bass company I'm going to spend 50% of the R&D budget on the headstock shape.

I agree that the headstock is not particularly good looking, but in my mind that is quite minor an issue. The sound is number one and comfort when playing is two.

Given how much the headstock appears to affect buying decisions, you might want to up that to 80%.

That's the first explanation bive heard that makes sense for it being "backwards." I don't agree but that at least illustrates a compelling argument.

It's small enough that you can easily overlook it, or you can change a jumper on the preamp.

Is that being recorded with a mic in the room and just the ambient sound from the cab? Honestly, I don't like the tone of the bass. But if there is no DI or mic on cab, then that might make sense and why I don't like it.

What did you listen on? I listened on my phone, the bass sounded good (eapecially the harmonics) but the EQ settings sounded identical to me.

Roger wants it that way. He's willing to die on this hill. At 43 seconds he explains it in a way that isn't convincing but his name is on more headstocks than mine is. He blames Fender for doing it backwards

Gotta say i was kinda annoyed when i saw Lobster reviewing an LEH bass. Mostly at myself for procrastinating.

I've been wanting to email Ellis for a while but i really don't need another super expensive bass, especially after recently picking up my second Olinto. But i've been mildly obsessed with his "Museman" bass with the MM pickup and retro-futuristic pick guard. Wanted to know more about it and wanted to know where i could physically play an LEH in NYC. (I owe my PDX friends a visit but who knows when that'll happen to just visit the shop in person myself.)

And now Lobster's reviewing an LEH, she let the cat out of the bag, and i'm sure everyone's gonna start ordering them and the wait times are gonna skyrocket! Anyway, i should probably email Ellis anyway before an LEH shows up on SBL.

Yes, pickup select post and volume are wired backwards.

I find it confusing. Good thing I usually have the blend pot centered.

At least the truss rod doesn’t work backwards like Pedulla!

In mine i would ban head. So i would cut cost from 50% on R&D budget
Very nice bass. But i don't like head too. Much prefer my Sire U5 head.
