La Bella White vs Copper-White vs Gold-White?

That's the sound I'm looking for . I've got a 5string with EADGC .
What brand do you recommend ? Size ? Do you just get a 6 string set or a 4 and get the C separately ? Any links would be greatly appreciated
Acoustic (with an undersaddle piezo) or solid-body electric (magnetic pickup)?
If the former, I recommend trying nylon-core, silver-plated copper roundwounds. In other words, like classical guitar low strings, only giant. (They only work through piezo pickups, mind you.)
What's the scale length?

I don't do this is often, but I'm basically trying to sway you toward a different direction from the White Nylons, i.e. the aforementioned nylon-core, silver-plated roundwounds: since you said you'd like a classical guitar sound, you might as well try giant classical guitar strings. They're also relatively cheap.

So, I'll only make a small contribution to the main topic, which was outer-nyloned strings, since the La Bella Copper White Tapewounds do seem promising too, for your tonal preference, according to the poster above.
However, the set that you linked to is a BEADG set: you'd need either the 750C-CB (light) or the 760C-CB (standard), from which you'd discard the low B. Unless you indeed can find the single high C (which I'm not sure you can; try Elderly.com or FretNation.com), to be added to one of the four-string sets, either the 750C or the 760C.

The above having been said, I'll now go ahead with my own inner-nylon aside, and let everyone else ignore me and carry on as they/you were.
Re the La Bella BG10 set, there is unfortunately a glitch in terminology: in classical guitar Niibori orchestra parlance, a "bass guitar" is actually a baritone-tuned one (B-b). What you need is a "contrabass guitar" set (with a low B) - either a 4-string, to which you'd add a single classical guitar string (of appropriate gauge) as your high C.
(Again, I'm assuming your bass has a piezo pickup.)
What's the scale length then? So that I can suggest the right set.

AAAARGH!! I meant low E... which was the whole point: classical contrabass guitars are tuned like a Fender Bass VI (EADGBE, a whole octave down from standard Spanish guitar tuning).

Hannabach (and Savarez??) make nice E-C(E) sets too (though again, it depend on your scale)
That's exactly what I was getting at. I'm a long time Savarez user and endorser.
(No, not in that sense: they don't know I exist, let alone give me quid pro shill... I just mean I suggest them to folks when appropriate. ^^)

Hi
My question is more about the gauge than the color.
Speaking about the black nylon, I tested the 750 and the 760, and found that with their lighter gauge, the 750 loose a lot of the quality of the sound of the 760.
Does some of you has tried those white strings in different gauge, and if so, do you felt some differences in sound with difft gauge, or a loose of something in the sound.
Does stronger gauges sound better than lighter one.
For me this is what I notice with the blacks.
Thank’s for your answers.
Alain

Ive only played the blacks in both 760 and 750, in general I'd say the gauge is more of how they feel to the player than tone.

I would imagine it's really player/instrument specific—if I really wanted to 'fine-tune' my setup maybe I'd experiment 760 for E-C for a heavier top string, but in general I start with 750s for my style of playing.

yeah I wish they would make a low B. it would really open up the possibilities for me. Jens Schoenitz told me he has his own spec'd 864mm nylon-core (Lenzner) strings, which I'd also LOVE to try!

Personnaly, my experience has been shared by a friend who has exactly the same set up as me (Takamine TB10), and ended at the same conclusion as me. The 760 sound better than the 750 who loose a lot of the qualiy of the 760.

I haven't yet gotten around to trying nor enquiring (is it really BEADG? ball ends or not? winding length, ball to taper? gauges?) about these:
Fisoma F2716 Classical 5 string Bass Guitar 860mm Medium Light Tension Ball end Bass Classical 5 string
https://lordofthestrings.com/en/bas...s-guitar-860mm-standard-tension-ball-end.html
(available in "light" and "standard" tension, as linked to, as well as other scale lengths and tunings)
but Fisoma is a Lenzner brand (currently owned by SchneiderMusik, online string vendors and the folks behind Optima as well), so they are likely to be close or identical to what you seek.

yes B-G ball ends. I think he has set his own specs and has Lenzer make them for him, and I imagine they're similar to the Branded standard sets. Jens has a 'sanded' set (flats) which im very interested in. (though he hasn't replied yet to my inquiry about them, so maybe they are only available to his instrument customers and not a regular retail item.)

I'm very interested in trying those Fisomas if they are B-G. please keep me posted if you find out anything more about them.
edit: looking online , I imagine they're E-C. right?

Interesting, but it would depend on the materials: polished classical guitar strings have the silver plating ground in spots and the copper exposed, which would make them useless to me (my hands would turn them into green mush in no time - polished bronze strings don't get the same striation, but they're not an option for me either, for the same, sweaty reason).
However, Galli makes a true (chrome-steel ribbon) nylon-core flatwound, the Synthesis Chrome flat (not to be confused with their regular flat offerings). Scroll down to the bottom of this list:
Flatwound bass strings, UK: Galli, DR - Dunlop - ELITES - D'Adarrio, La Bella, Thomastik, D'Adarrio, La Bella, SIT, Dingwall, Payson, Elixir UK, Strings for acoustic and electric bass guitars, 4, 5, 6 string :: Basses Guitars:: for sale Birmingham, London, Manchester

I'm afraid I don't own a 5 string acoustic, so I was just mildly curious about the Fisomas - you may get to contacting Lord of the Strings about them before I do.

I sent Carl (Lord of the Strings) an email today, (I can't search their site- so sloooooow)

Jens states, "Silver wire was used for the wrapping and the core is made of fine nylon fibers. For an extra charge, sanded strings can also be produced."

Hi Alain, for me I didn't hear a difference between the 750/760–just feel (maybe slightly less 'presence', which is expected with less mass from a lighter gauge string). Again, everyone and every instrument is different. I personally need a supple string for my playing style, and I didn't feel I was losing anything using the 750s. YMMV

I would imagine whatever you and your friend experienced would be expected with any of the 'whites'—if you're just swapping gauges (750<->760).

I'd be curious to hear others experiences only swapping gauges (750-760)
