The IT guys pulled an old server rack out 5-6 yrs ago to replace with cabinets. I've had it stashed for years and was told they have no use for it and may be pulling another one out.
I see the makings of a milling jig or 2.

Nice! Just check with a good straightedge to make sure they're actually dead straight...

I need a quality straight edge.
I also need to build a decent bench. I haven't needed one at home and the one I made at work has adjustable legs and 3/4 mdf top, so it's pretty flat, but I don't wanna be staying late every day just to use the bench at work.
The adjustable legs are from greenhouse tables we took apart and I saved them because I'm a hoarder. I need to see if there's any left.

One of the perks at my job is I'm constantly fixing, building, rebuilding, remodeling, etc. So there's always parts and materials left over. I tend to stash stuff and repurpose most of it at work. But I get to keep a lot too.
Kinda hard to tell from the pic, but the metal legs have 12" threaded rod inside. You can adjust the height by turning the nut. The section of the building that my little shop is in has a wood floor. So I was able to lag screw it down and adjust for level. So, I built a 10'x4' bench for the price of (4) 2x4s, 4x8 sheet of mdf and a 2x4 piece of mdf.
I'm pretty sure there's a few more of the legs out back. I'm going to grab them before they end up at the scrap yard.

I just couldn't pass it up. I was joking at the register and asked if it was on sale. He gave me 10% off just for the helluvit. Also grabbed a couple Freud flush bits and stopped at HF for some extra clamps and doodads.
It's in the back of the van and my phone takes terrible pics when it's dark, even with a light on. I need to get a few good ones of the wenge. It's a really nice piece. 8-3/8" x 8' 10" x 7/8"

I don't really think of wenge as if it were wood. I think of it as a sort of loosely-bound collection of splinters.
Yep. I find Wenge is really happy once it gets into final dimensions, but it's very angry about going through the process and seriously fights you along the way, trying it's hardest to maim you and cause infections in the wounds.

Now I can relax and be excited.
Until the next nail biter. I've never resawn (resawed?) hard, expensive wood.
If that goes well, the next nail biter is getting the fingerboard off. And then NOT screwing up the radius or frets.
Everyone hates sanding but I actually enjoy it. It's almost therapeutic. Can't wait to get to the point where I just have to worry about sanding.
Oh, I prepped and started painting the hardware, but forgot to get a pic.
Now I can relax and be excited.

I did!And it's done! Did you make the routing templates first?
I was looking around for something to use, because I didn't have any mdf.
Sitting right in the work bench were 2 base cabinet doors that someone ripped off the hinges.
3/4" mdf!
