I use this technique combined with resting my thumb on the next lower unplayed string (usually E or B).
so i'm buying a dj4 tomorrow. i guess it's more like, i'm paying what i owe, lol. hope to have it by friday, then i can show off as is the LOG custom! wooo!

Me no Like Half Rounds...Imagine Someone spilling Honey on your roundwounds and you clean them off but there is still some stickiness!...Thats how Half Rounds feel to me.

I had some D'Addario half rounds on a fretless (that was kept in the closet near a Lakland). Odd feeling string, being neither a flat nor a round. They felt a bit like a cat's tongue.
In all fairnesss, I didn't give them a chance to break in, but I didn't care for them too much. They seem to be love-em-or-hate-em kinda strings.
personally I've never had a problem with halfrounds. I used them for a little while back in 01/02 but have been trying lots of others lately.

Perfect description. I had a set on my fretless Sterling I owned a few years ago...I think they were on for less than 30 minutes. Couldn't stand them.

Still need a thumbrest for the B string work though. Hmmmmmm, maybe that's another part of the reason I never could get into a P. I say slap a MM pup in her, that's mine a Happyface's next dream Lakie combination

You guys may know that none of the guys in Third Obsession are spring chickens. We actually formed the band to keep doing something musical even though our lives were too hectic to devote more than a day (sometimes 2) per week to writing and recording. Heck, most get-togethers last only an hour and a half. Even so, we clicked and quickly realized that we had to do something besides jam in a basement and record ourselves.
Tonight, the relative unknowns (we've had <10 gigs in the last 1.5 years, hehehe) beat 4 well known local acts, one of which has won something like 5 battles. We get over 5K in prizes including studio time w/ a grammy nominated, Dove winner and we get to open for a major heavy/hard rock name when they come to town. We've tried for months to get gigs at the popular places, but couldn't cause we basically had no connections or respected references. I feel like Rocky Balboa.
