Speechless!!

Well she's here, but I don't get to hear her until Monday when my tech gets her wired and setup. Anyway, here's my family portrait (although the JO, is going to see some changes once the BG is running....).

The color is somewhat close on this pic...

For those that don't know, she's the Bob Glaub 5 Prototype, loaded with a Nordstrand NP5. Can't WAIT to play and hear it!

i'm thinking about putting the chromes i got for the sterling (traded it after stealing the black hardware) onto the dj4 i'm getting. fralins and chromes. hmmmmm.

I ended up putting the Chromes on the JO5CS and MTD Nickels on the DJCS w/Audere. Seems to be the correct setup. I may still go passive on the DJ, haven't decided yet.

Chromes and Chi's. Yummy. Can't wait to hear the Chromed Fralins.

So here's a question for you guys.... When it comes to picking colors on your basses, do you just consider each bass independently (and disregard the current colors in your stable), or do you try to mix and match accordingly with the other basses. Just wondering.

I take each bass/color into consideration, but then again what’s out there to buy (used) narrows your options quite a bit.
There’s a lot more bursts available (I have 2) than CAR’s or LPB’s & even less Seafoam Green. :atoz:
That’s said, I’d love a CAR or LPB JO4 or Scheff to round out the stable don't cha know...

Thats what i'm rockin on the JO5. Pots and what not should be getting here soon.

yeah, you'll have to get me a wiring diagram...maybe i'll try something cool on the dj, too. i may end up with delano large poles in it...they're humbuckers, so maybe i can play with them a little. ideally, i think i'd like to do a stacked knob control scheme and keep them passive. i'm not sure what to put in the extra hole, tho. i don't think Lakland would sell me a plate with only 2 holes, but maybe hipshot makes them and i can ask them.

yeah i'll probably showcase my lack of talent again once i get comfy on the dj4 neck. i'll see what it sounds like with rounds first, but i think flats are in its future, because i don't feel like putting them on the Ray yet.

My fav is Pacific Blue Burst. Love that trans finish.

yeah, i think that's my second fav finish offered on ebmm basses, but trans teal takes the cake for me. after that, i'm not sure...i really like the trans white on laklands, esp with black hardware and maple neck. i really thought about getting something with that finish.

it doesn't cost too much to refinish a bass, so maybe i'll do that with something down the road if i have the extra cash.

I just put Chromes on the Crush and JO flats on the Surfer. Can't believe I'm digging flats on both J's! Can't go wrong with Chromes in my opinion...bust full on balls to the wall crushing tone. Looking for a dub tone out of the JO flats, but might still be to much mids...we'll have to see how they age...

I'm just gonna copy Markus from this point on:D

Seriously, I hate natural with maple, or a black with rosewood.
I need more color-breakup.

When ever possible, I look for something that just looks different.

I'm really digging the stacked knob setup on my JO--rolling the tone halfway off on the bridge pup (with everything else full on) beefs things up nicely while still providing a lot of bite.

I'm interested to hear Fralins + Chromes, too. I'll have to try that on the JO sometime.
