The thing is, it really won't get played much. My fretless DJ (I'm leaning towards Stacy) is so damn good and fits my sound perfectly. Then, when I get my fretted DJ and CallowHill P-bass, I would almost never play Tracy. She deserves to be played.

that callowhill sounds like it will be BADA$$.

I already like my fretless DJ better. I took it to a rehearsal tonight (new band!) and they were all about it. I didn't even have to say anything, they were digging Stacy (fretless). That and my CallowHill P bass will probably be my 1-2 punch, both with flats and the Sonic Blue DJ with rounds. Great stuff.. I would've ordered a 5-string CallowHill P-bass if I knew how nicely my fretless would cover that ground... oh well, I won't complain :bassist:

Thanks, Evan. The DS'd Glaub with very broken-in rounds has this almost throbbing sound through my rig. Sounds good when I play along with CDs, I'm very curious to try it in a band context. I might need to put on fresh rounds for more cut.

The JO gets a decent chunk of time. It has that classic burpy growl, which I prefer over the straight aggressiveness of my DJ with Aeros--especially through the tube amp. I've barely touched my other basses since these two came.

I agree! John, now's the time to snap up a US Glaub--used prices are so good, you'll love the killer neck.

I like the Avatar with 12's. It has the low end of a 15" and the punch of a 10"

Marty was lower than Wilkins. Pats quote included re-assembly which Marty did not.
The problem is Skylines have a "poly" finish which seems to be more costly to strip.
Pat did not seem to have an issue, where Marty hiked his quote uo $100 when he found out it was poly.
Anyone ever strip the finish off a Skyline?
If it was around $300 complete I would not bat an eye.

OK.. so you've all seen my bass with the pickup cover (which will go on and off as I need), but I was your opinion on tort or black:

the tort is a little bit more brown when not shot with crappy lighting... I'll swap em around here and there and decide which. I like the black because it fits with the ebony well.
