from leo:
"Carl has inspected your neck and has come to this conclusion. We will apply a 20 coat CA process to your neck to further protect it. What appears to be cracks are nothing but string wear on the fretboard."

The string wear was kind of extreme and after showing them pics, then said to send it in. As long as I keep the flats on it, the board shouldn't need any leveling or anything. The bass really sounds great. The guitarist I just started playing with said, he'd drop out a little more often so the bass could be in the forefront. Ever hear a guitarist say that about a bass tone?

Awesome! I've heard that a few times since getting my first Lakland. Always makes me smile.

Can't find one......anywhere.....used that is.
Got some good prices on some new ones.
It kinda makes me sick to think of spending that much on a bass:confused:
Give it time, my friend! You can get a used US Glaub for $1700 or maybe even less these days.

Well, after a while of makeing sure it was safe, I was intructed today to buy a new bass by the wife. Looking to get a 55-02 to go with my Glaub and JO. Question though...where should I get one? I would rather buy from a TBer, but nothing used in the colors I like (CSB, TSB)....who is the best source for Lakies....(no dealers around me)...I was ordered to buy it today...help!!!

Try Link Removed. If my wife ever told me "You have to buy a new bass TODAY.", I would miss the deadline as I would just be standing there with my jaw on the floor for 2 days.

Hey, i don't mean to derail the thread but i gots a quick question and i know you guys will have the answer!

I have the JO 5 string and i want to replace the knobs with chrome ones rather than the standard black J-styles. I bought some the other day and they don't fit because the hole is too small. Is the only way to get correct sized ones to order direct from Lakland???

Thanks!!

That's how I feel...but I do not get these opportunities...umm, ever...so I am not going to let it pass by...she texted me to see if I had ordered one yet..she has been in Nashville with my parents for the last 2 weeks while I address some house issues....it makes me wonder what SHE did...
