More Chi clips are on the way. In fact, I just sent Markus a full set of clips for a Skyline Decade with single coils. Those should be up on the site soon. Also, I just completed a US HB with Chi humbuckers. I recorded 2 full sets of clips with that bass - one set in humbucking mode and the other set in single coil mode. Super cool bass (and pickups). I still need to mix those files, but should have that all done in a week or so. Then they're out the door to Markus.

Thanks for your patience! I know it's been awhile since the audio portion of the site has been updated. But I promise I'm on it!

the 5502 sounds awesome and plays wonderful...i can get a modern slap sound and old school r&b sounds...it always fits perfect in every situation :hyper:

and my beloved 5594 has a cream buckeye burl top, a birdseye maple fingerboard and the best neck i ever played! it's soo freakin' awesome.
i bought it two months ago, tried two foderas, some sadowksy basses and then i tried that one and fell in love.
i already knew that the preamp and pickups are great and the birdseye maple fingerboard and the gorgeous looking top just amazed me. furthermore the lakland was the best playing bass i tried that day :cool:

thats why i took it with me!

sounds GREAT!!!! let us know when the solo album is done.....I am sure a few of us will buy a copy ( I KNOW I will!!!!)

those burl tops are beginning to grow on me.......another DANGEROUS obsession!!!!

I would say the 44-02 is a VERY versatile bass.....as for the spacing....not exactly either the 60s or 70s BUT it DOES soudn GREAT in either position....or BOTH as I like to play my 55s all of the time (well....MOST of the time....I DO switch my fretless to singles for a nice J-growwl!)

Thanks for the replies guys. Had seen that vid before, but couldn't really tell the difference in sound because of my laptop's speakers. Found a pair of headphones though, seems like the sounds are close enough to please me, until I can afford a stable of 20 basses . . .

well.....it is "on hold"....the "last" config was a medium green metallic color with a CHIsonic......either 4 or 5.

In fact, they aren't. Close but not THE spots. The same about the MM sound - the pickup is not in the exact position, the bass that nails the SR sound is the 4-76 (with a 35" scale implied, although I think there were 34" 4-76 as well)
Actually I've been thinking if Lakland would custom make a USA P/J/J5 (like a P/MM with the exact 60-ies and 70-ies J coils placement) in the next year
