oooo...serial number 100??? the last of the signed JOs (I believe)???!!!! :eek:

......I would not do it....Carl may not let you either....get another one and have it CHI'd - even a Skyline would be cool and you would have a nice pair....

I almost got rid of my JO5 when I got my JOCS but decided to keep both...they sound THAT different....I think there is a place for both....

just my opinion....Markus "CHI-master" disagrees with me of course!:cool:

Hey guys, long time no post. Just seeking some advice in an effort not to piss off my sound guy this weekend.

I just put a standard (not underwound, not overwound) Fralin in my Bob Glaub and I really dig the sound. Anyways, I also have a jazz bass with Fralin single coils and the P Bass is inherently louder. I'm trying to figure out a way to match the input gain a little better so I can play different basses for different songs. I'm not trying to go all "arena rock" or anything, just having some fun. In the past I would run my jazz through a Sadowsky outboard pre, and get close to matching input gain, but active preamps aren't really my shiz. I know I could just adjust the gain knob on my amp, but haven't come close to getting that down to a stone cold science, so to speak.

I'm going to fool around with the pickup height on the Lakland, but don't want to lose tone either. Let me know if anyone has some input, no pun intended.

This will be a good check for me to see if I really need/want one. I had the matching JO5 fretless and sold it to get the Glaub. I wish I had that one back. If this one isn't the one I want, there is a nice 55-01 fretless, used at BC. I will grab that and some nordies and an East U-Retro, and be in business!

LOVE the Fralin Ps......

I would try the pickup heights and maybe during the sound check figure out where the J is (level wise) when the P is set at neutral (12 o'clock)....then you will have a reference point...leave the J and the P there until you play them the first time....

I always try to do that when I play 2 basses since I go direct and the only volume conrol I have is on my bass (I am at the mercy of a sound guy as well!)....

hopefully htis will help....maybe???

+1 I have a fralin equipped Glaub and fralin equipped JO5. My glaub was a lot hotter than my JO. Raise the PUs in my JO and everything was way more betterer :D

LOL, I love ours. My wife loves it too. I have an almost 3 year old girl and a 6 month old girl and they all love it. Win Win Win! plus the seats fold down flush in the back so it hauls a crap-load of gear
