Yeah, without the sig on it (at least for for the DJ5) i imagine its just a case of taking his name off of any description etc on the website.

OK, all my opinion right now....but the idea of not making a BG5 in a skyline is not something I agree with...but not making the DJ anymore.....regardless of what you call it...NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!!

Sweet! I love me some cherryburst quilt. My 1st Lakland was a cherryburst 55-02 deluxe (exact twin of your 44-02 but add a B string). Sold it to my younger brother (guitard learning bass).

The JO5 seems very popular and now that both have the same pup's its really the body shape and neck that are different.
Maybe Lakland could just offer the JO5 with a choice of necks.

That is the EXACT bass that gave me lakland GAS for the first time.....I would still love to have one, although maybe this 4 will win me over.

I love the idea of a Bound and Blocked neck on the JO. I would be all over it, but I know a lot of people like the neck profile of the DJ which is different, and the different body shape.

Well i was going to say check the specs on the Lakland website but i guess now you cant.

Other than the block inlays and bound fingerboard (the reason i went for a DJ5 over a JO5) the fretboard is slightly rounder and i guess there might be a few mm difference somewhere else.
bamabass, i agree but if the option of the different body size was taken away i dont think it would harm sales that much.
Im only guessing here of course but for me, the smaller body size was a bonus rather than something i got the DJ5 for.
I wanted a Lakland 5 string and love block inlays, thats why i got the DJ5 (didnt even want a jazz to be honest).

But maybe thats just me.
