Guys, I am totally loosing control over my GAS discharge. I currently only have money to buy one US Lakie OR two Skylines - and I foresee I won't have another chance for at least a year :crying::crying::crying:
I want a passive JO5 and a fretless 55.
I would love me a PJ5, could even sacrifice a JO, but there's yet no sign that the B3 Boomer will happen

Would love 2 US Lakies but can't have 'em... what should I do?

I beleive there is a natural 55-02 fretless in the classifieds now (here):

it is really cool.....then you can look for a JO5 or convert a KO5 to a PJ (?) that is what I would recommend.....get a "2 fer" at this point.....more variety....

So WHERE is the Lakie content???? My wife absolutely loves messages as well....she gets alot of tension headaches and a nice shoulder rub does her wonders.....although my hands do get more tired than they used to....

with the discount, the JO5's are only $990 w/free us shipping. idk how much it'd be for you to get it shipped, but it's worth an email to the guys over there. I wouldn't mind the b/m JO5 they have if it weighed less than 10lbs. it weighs 11lbs according to their details page, though.

It would be the Skyline models. Im tempted to get a JO5 and put flats on it.

Basically I want the best 5 string Jaz Bass....and these 2 are the contenders. Is the DJ5 neck shape any different?

I have owned a DJ5 and now own 2 JO5s (1 skyline natural with RW and the other "ice blue" with blocks and binding and CHIsonic pickups).....

the JO feels more like a Fender (if you like that feel)...but (IMHO) feels much smoother and sounds MUCH better....the DJ neck has a very different neck profile....

the price difference has to do with the blocks, binding and the paint....

by what you are saying, I would think you would love the JO5

as for RW and Maple - mostly what you like...I am a BIG RW fan.....so I vote Natural JO5 with RW ala:

You mean that site that i can't stay logged into? :o Bass Emporiums Skyline stock doesn't appear to be much more than -01's and -02's so i didn't bother sending them an email. i want a dj anyway...i was willing to buy a jo since i had a need for a fiver, but that need is now passed, so i'll be on the lookout for a dj. i know there's one up in the classifieds, but i can't spend more cash right now.

well i emailed leo yesterday afternoon, but he didn't get back to me on the price for the JO5 that was on the list. he probably doesn't take my interest seriously since i haven't bought anything yet, lol.

anyway, i did have some money to burn, and i happened upon a very nicely priced other brand 5 string today so i'm buying that and picking it up tomorrow.

looks like i'll probably pick up a black dj4 to fill the jazz vacancy in a few weeks now that i don't need a 5 string.
