Oh...your so stealth Ferg:eyebrow::D

Hey Guys, I posted my new to me 55-94 a few pages back - can I get a number?!!!

Also, I was thinking about it last night... I love the 55-XX feel and tone, but I must admit that for looks alonge I am not absolutely in love with the body shape (as comfortable as it is)... I thought it would be awesome to have a DJ5 shaped bass but with the electronics/control layout of a 55-XX - meaning no pickguard or control plate, etc. Anyone with me? Too bad the odds of that happening is next to nothing.

PM "nubs" for a number, and check out Link Removed for more good stuff.
I definitely know what you're saying with the 55's. Lately I've definitely been leaning towards more traditional looks. They will custom build one for you, this is a mockup that I took to Dan and may still eventually order....

Cute kid!
You know, you could combine your current bass with your dream bass. The BG prototype would look awesome with a maple/ebony block fingerboard. A little Halloween-ish.

OK Ferg... you keep showing me up, and Stuart is getting a bit jealous wanting some face time, so here goes....
Great pictures, Randy! (Yours are outstanding, too, Ferg--no fighting :D). By the way, Stuart has far less drool than Doug would in the presence of that bass!

I remember (before getting my 1st Lakland) NOT digging the 55 body shape's looks. But, the features and reputation drew me in. I agreed to buy my 55-94 without having ever seen or played a Lakland. It took about 2 seconds in my hands, to totally fall in love w/ the bass. Now, I can't remember why I didn't dig the body shape.

I felt the same about the DJ5's shape. Bought one off the 'bay and fell in love, wish I coulda kept it and wired it in series.

The JO5.... I've always loved it's looks! Miss that bass too!

It's funny you say that because almost as soon as I posted that remark I looked at pics of mine and other 55's and I questioned myself. I think the lower horn just looks a bit short, but I think that's why it's as comfy as it is and access to high frets is great, unlike a J style 5 (my other bass).
