yea, man. I just spent the past few hours playing it and my other basses.. tell me, with your 4-07, does it over overdrive your amp even at low gain settings?

Noting crazy, but I guess more that my single coil chis, and the humbuckers in the hollowbody. I usually just run the volume on the pre down a little.

I hear ya Evan...I'm a passive guy too. I usually get my volume set on the head, and then back off the bass volume until I hit the sweet spot, then it's all good in the hood! Are you boosting the lows? I never find that necessary unless going single coil mode.

If you are playing through your walkabout, plug into the active channel, or flip the active switch....it makes a big difference when I use my 55-02 compared to passive BG

I had the active switch flipped. One thing that helped was when I read that the center indent on the bass control is not neutral since the bass is boost only. I only do tiny adjustments.

that 4-76 is incredible. It's just hard for me to really get into active basses... I'm reallllly diggin my DJ though.
