I have D'Addario nickels on my 4-07 now, but that is one bass I actually like steels on.
i agree 100% i have them on my bart loaded 4-94 and i have the same experience, even the raw passive feeling your talking about.
I almost immediately ordered another set for the future right then and there.
My only qualm with them is that they don't have silks...

DR stainless strings will smooth out after a little wear, probably oils and skin coating the strings YUCK, but either way I love 'em!
Ferg, I've never seen daphne blue in person (though I like it in pics), but I believe ice blue's different--a darker blue, and yet shinier.
Which bass are you thinking about refinishing, so can I give you grief?

So I made it home from the 'Nasti today after witnessing my beloved Bears get their a$$e$ handed to them (I'm ready for Spring Training now...), finally caught up, now I've gotta go practice.

make your third Lakland a PJ (whenever that comes by) and then you will have "one of each"....
At first I wanted to reply in such manner as:
- Do you have the devotion as to post 120 posts in a row all in one thread?
- Do you have the guts to catch "the Lakland cold" and skip your work as long as it takes the Big Brown (or White) Truck to finally get to your adress?
- Do you feel the strength to restrain yourself from "real" life and spend weeks drooling at the monitor?
...but then I realized you were 15 and had no job. Well, probably I better put it that way:
- Do you wish to remain 15 and have no real job for the rest of your life?
