Not big on variety I guess but the Dark Stars just work for me.

I originally sold the DPLEII to fund the US Glaub, then bought it back when it came back up for sale two owners down the line.

As awesome as the Chis sound, there's something to be said about the aesthetic of the Dark Star. It just looks so raw... I love it.

I like the chrome though... Have you tried some P-bass style chrome knobs?

A little too chunky for that bass, but I have some standard sized chrome knobs on it...I'll post a photo today.

Both these basses pre-date the Chi's and I've never had a chance to play the Chi's and compare.
I briefly owned a US BG with Fralins - a fantastic sound but the Dark Star was on a whole 'nother level.
I'm a plug and play kinda guy - one pickup, vol and tone. Anything more and I start chasing my tail LOL.

I worked Saturday and Sunday and have Mon/Tues off. Currently procrastinating wrapping up the fall yard clean up.
Heres some Lakland Pron I collected and saved - never owned it just dug the Sonic look.

Yeah...thinking the same...if there were .75" and not 1" I'd be set.
