I personally like the look of the Chi's better than the Darkstar pickups.

oooooh... I didn't realize we had an actual Julie Slick here. You guys rock. I just discovered the Power Trio lately for myself and adore it
. And rather than paint my Glaub I should probably just make an Orange Chi equipped bass #11. (#4 Lakie).
Thanks! Cheers from the homeland - you know we're in Russia right now, right? That reminds me, I played "Larks Tongue... Pt II" with Ade, Eric, Marco Minnemann, Greg Howe, and Eddie Jobson last night (and will be doing so again in a few hours) - pinch me! Monsters!
Oh yeah, I think I'm s'posed to answer another message somewhere... I play 4 strings (never tempted to tame a fiver). And rather than paint my Glaub I should probably just make an Orange Chi equipped bass #11. (#4 Lakie).
PS - I probably shouldn't post when I've had a combined 2 hours of sleep in the past 50 or so hours... but, meh. The deliriousness is too amusing. Hey, is that the ghost of Ivan the terrible over there? Oh, it's a sink.
Here's a couple shots from this weekend. I was only slightly hammered at this point......
Is that Bailey's?
No, it's The Palms in Newberry. We play the occasional Wild Wing show, too.
Ahhh cool. My grandmother lives up there![]()

Does your grandma go to The Palm?![]()
I (we-3/4 of the band) grew up there. I lived there from age 8 until I was 19 or so. My dad still lives there. He doesn't go to the rock gigs like this, though. They're way too loud and rowdy!Ahhh cool. My grandmother lives up there![]()

Duck Dunn is here. It is strikingly good looking. The CAR finish is very deep and nice.
Tonally, I'm going to have to get used to it. I've gotten to used to my DJ's neck pup, and the Dunn is definitely different. Much more throaty in the middle of the neck, chunkier in the lows, and the high end is less hollow sounding. Cool, but honestly I wasn't instantly jumping for joy. I've worked the EQ some and it definitely made me smile a little. I need to gig it a bit before I come to any conclusions.

Hahaha doubtful. She does a lot of volunteer work up at the Opera House though. Now if only she could get my band a show there
