We played some KA parties at their house in the woods 3 or 4 years ago and they did get kind of crazy. That house burned down a couple years ago, though. (I didn't play at that party!)

Tonally, I'm going to have to get used to it. I've gotten to used to my DJ's neck pup, and the Dunn is definitely different. Much more throaty in the middle of the neck, chunkier in the lows, and the high end is less hollow sounding. Cool, but honestly I wasn't instantly jumping for joy. I've worked the EQ some and it definitely made me smile a little. I need to gig it a bit before I come to any conclusions.

I was NOT a fan of the BG5 tone until I got it in a band setting. It sits in the mix better than any bass I've owned....

Yup, I've spent many a weekend at the House in the Woods. Sad that it burned down, but the new one they built is MUCH nicer from what I've heard. We're hoping to get up there soon.

I most certainly am not in that category/group of non-believers:p Back in Feb./March, when I was in the "market" for a new bass(Lakland, of course;)), I was all set on a Skyline Decade, but my dream US BG came up, so I forked out some extra cashola, and snagged it. No regrets at all, but I still have some serious Decade GAS pains:hmm:....... Someday perhaps.

Love that Decade, Markus.

I was wondering about that. I tracked down an old ad in the classifieds for a LPB Lakland and asked the seller who bought it and he said that you had. Since I had already bought this bass I didn't pursue it but judging by the lack of LPB Glaubs you see I was guessing it was actually the same bass.

So is this the only LPB Skyline Glaub in all of Talkbass? I know there was one with a jazz pickup and 1.5" neck but this is apparently the only standard one I have seen.

Did you buy it from the original owner.

I think my winter project is going to be compiling some Skyline info..like what colors were available what year and how many were made in that color. I know there were very few CAR and LPB Skylines made and I also know there were very few Scheffs made.

He he he! Just ran across the photo and thought I'd post it. Yeah...I wouldn't pass up a dream bass...that's for sure!
