All skylines are ash, except he Decade...probably to keep options down and hit a price point.

Just got through giving the LPB bass it's run through. I can actually get the action lower on this bass than my other Skyline Glaubs. Short and sweet....I love it.

Hope you guys that owned it enjoyed it as it will not be going anywhere. I have other Skylines that can go over time but LPB is too tough to come by for me to ever unload it.

Now...as I was playing tonight I decided what I would like to see even more than a custom color Skyline Glaub. An ALDER BODY Skyline Glaub.

How comes they don't make those. I would definitely get one immediately if it was offered.

is it bad that when I heard the world would sorta end (almost all human life lost) in 2012, my first thought was: How can I preserve my Laklands?

But, then I realized, it'll probably take a hundred years or so for electricity to be reestablished , and I'll be dead.... unless I get to the top of that mountain range in Africa....

Hmm, maybe Dan will build me a washtub bass w/ BEM stick and chrome handles .

I like Alder...I ordered my fretless JO CS and Decade Alder, but I don't think there are the numbers to do a special run.

I agree with this. Alder is more vintage correct and is pretty much a standard on solid color Precisions and jazzes. I think it would sell just as well if not MORE than the ash models. I also WAY prefer an alder bodied 3TS. That is the only reason I never hold onto one right now. I don't dig the heavy grain of the ash with a 3TS finish.

I wonder what the grain under a LPB DJ5 looks like?

absolutely. It might be hard to get 30+ people to say we should do a special run, BUT I think they would sell very well if available to the general public at places like Bass Central, Emporium, NW etc

I wouldn't think much since the tooling is already there...I am guessing just the time and cost of material and machine set-up to run a different wood.

There must be some reason it was not offered up to this point. I am not sure if it's cost of alder where it's manufactured or what. I don't think the setup is what would hold them back I would think it would be cost of or lack of quality wood.

Yeah...but they would have to buy a decent amount to make it doable in the Skyline price point.

Lots of people like natural Ash. I don't mind it when it's fully natural or vintage butterscotch but other than that I am an alder fan.

Wow, my first post in the new thread. Only a few days old and already on page 21! You guys are serious!

Still digging the Dunn, but I'm ready to put some flats on it. I can't decide if I want to go with TI Jazz Flats or Chromes. Not really considering any other at this point. The Chromes are much cheaper, so it kinda makes me want to go that route. What do you nuts think?

I have to say, the Dunn has really grown on me, but when I pickup my DJ it just feels like me. I think I love and appreciate the DJ and DJ5 even more now that the Dunn is here. I don't think I could ever become a true P-bass guy. But hey, I am trying!
