LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #31

That is, until a BGPJ5 comes out in a Skyline of course.

Here's hoping.

Actually, I was thinking earlier on today, could the reason that Lakland has not yet released a SkyBGPJ5 be that they don't have their P5 pup figured out yet?
I imagine if I was Dan that I would much rather have my own inhouse pickup over another company's.

Just a thought

Nice point. According to Stew of Nordstrand, making a pickup(s) with an uneven number of coils (E.g. 2+3) may be a trick. However, Lakland already have experience with 5-string Bartolini and Lakland linear single coils, like the neck pickup of the 55-94/-02 and each of the halves of the MME quadbucker.

Now, just a thought. We have a 55-94/-02 3+2 quadbucker in the bridge position already. Mind you, a quadbucker! 4 coils! What if we had another one in the neck position, but with a different switching pattern: 2 coils = "single", 4 coils = "humbucker" and 2 coils = "this":

I'm not sure how feasible it is, but it seems like a pretty groovy idea to me!

I spoke with Dan today and worked out final details for the first of two new Glaubs:

Black body w/ black white black pickguard, maple neck w/ black B&B, Chi-Sonic HB w/ a push/pull switch on the volume pot. Gonna pick it up at the shop during my tour.

The white Glaub will be done in January, but I am working that one in to a video budget. The video MUST HAVE a white Lakland bass ;)

Having said that, it looks like I can take my Sonic Blue BG off the block. I really was torn about selling it anyway.

Sounds like a killer pair! I'm digging the music, just wish you guys were hitting a little closer to home (Atlanta & Chicago are both about six hours away....). Keep up the nice work!

Cool! That's a sweet-looking Glaub, hang on to it if you can. Plus, I was getting really tempted by it, so I'm glad you pulled it off the block.;)

If you do decide to unload one of them down the road, I'd frankly pursue any one of those three! They're all going to look great. Also, I played the first Glaub with a Chi HB (w/push-pull), and it was just thunderous and authoritative.

LOL, wishing those gigs were for the original project, but it's the cover band (which pays SO much better anyway ;)

Be glad, the gigging band I'm in, has been "breaking" for over a month now and the bipolar trio has only jammed twice in the last few months. I'm going nuts!!! Been thinking about joining a cover band, but soon as I do, everything will pick up again. :hmm:

Great news. Can't wait to hear how the CS sounds.

Speaking of pickups... I'd like a 55 w/ dual Bart MM pups, and as I've said many times before, a P/MM 5er. Maybe when the Sky BG5 makes it's debut, I can mod one. I know it will look crowded, but I'd do it anyway. Hmm, maybe a 55-02 would be a better candidate? Yeah!! Just get a custom PG from Roger to cover the route.

I hear ya....our singer went the rehab route....and then got married. Who knows when we will pick up again. Hopefully after the new year. :rollno:

the woman at UPS says that "Greyhound" will get your package there by Wednesday.

I said, "Greyhound? The bus?".

She looked at me.... bewildered..

Her coworker says "Ground!"

I start laughing, and said "WOW, now that's some REAL southern talk!"

Luckily everyone started laughing, she didn't take offense. PHEWW, I apologized anyways in between the laughing :D.
