Pat ended up using his CAR color sample to do my headstock.

Thanks bro.....yeah, they are completely incompetent here. :rollno: I am still working with them to find my neck. For all the Chicagoland LOG guys, I will be in Oakbrook starting Sunday. Anyone interested in getting together for dinner? Drop me a line.

Played a church gig this past weekend with my DJ5. This is a pretty big gig, 5 shows over two days, around 2500 people. Used in-ears so it was easy to hear. The guys who normally play this gig use either a Fender Jazz 5 or a Stingray HH. Everyone else in the band commented on how much better my DJ sounded through the ears. Full and rich with a plenty of top end grind. All I did was plug up into the existing equipment the house player uses, which was nothing more than a Sansamnp BDDI. It was grindy and just sounded awesome. They've asked me to come back as often as I can, I think in part because of the DJ! I really, REALLY love my DJ's!

Very cool, Jason! I can definitely see the DJ fitting in that way.

OK this is probably the keeper, simply because I had to trim about a 1/4" off the tail end to allow it to fit Matty's "gawjus" amber quilt 4-76 (bridge is closer to neck on his), and I prefer the less egg-like/more SR-like shape too. Oh.... never mentioned that Matty is interested in a guard too :D, I'm gonna mail him a posterboard template so he can make sure it fits. Please try to ignore the ink and patch...

Hey, uh... does anyone else find that the B string on their 55-02 doesn't really stay in tune so well? I'm wondering if it's just that the string's getting blasted by a St-Pat's week that's consisted of:

a 4-hour gig
two 6-hour gigs
a 12-hour gig plus a 4-hour gig
a 4-hour gig
and tonight, a 4-hour gig.

Or if there's something up with my machine head. It's actually been a bit of an issue with my B for a while (way more than with the other strings), but it seems to be more pronounced right now...

Dudes, after this week, I'm due for a set up... and so's the bass ;)

For the record, my opinion of UPS is that they're about as competent at sending stuff as I am... and I *don't* mean that in a good way.
