My eye flags are easily raised.
Mine too. They're on a hair trigger.

Anyone else have ideas about good lakie shops in NY? anyone has a JO skyline to sell?
My DJ came in yesterday, I think I'm officially an addict

I played one of these in a store a few weeks ago. Crushed everything else there. Congrats!
Looks like a sparkly puddle of sex has pooled up on your deck.
Carl sent me the one on the left as a first rough draft, so to speak. He wanted my feedback and reshaping ideas, possibly involving shipping his template back and forth....
I figured it'd be easier to buy a '70s Stingray pickguard and blend Carl's and the SR's shapes, to get what I was looking for.
My posterboard pickguard is laying on top of the Stingray guard so you can see the mods.

The 4-76 has a deeper cut lower horn and the volume knob was too close to Carl's and the SR guard's edge. I've been working on this for about an hour and a half. So what do you guys think?
Here's mine

iPhone pic.... forgive me.

Definately go with yours, that one makes it look like a Fleabass
It pains me to say that
Nice! I'm more of a Minutemen fan (definitely top five for me, got to see them twice back in the day), but I was made to appreciate the Captain by some friends.Thanks. I've been a huge Beefheart fan since he was still actively making music. Had tix to see him once but the show was cancelled. I have most of his and also your avatar and just about all of the other Minutemen discs on vinyl. Both bands are easily in my top five.
+1. I didn't notice until you said it, but now I think it would look better that way. Just my two cents.
Sounds fantastic, JJ! Carl is the best. Thanks, that's the kind of input I wanted. I'll make it look more balanced, even though (like I said) it doesn't raise any flags at all to my eye
.
I talked w/ Carl earlier, he's got my fretless 55-02 put together. He went a LONG way to make up for my pickup woes w/ Shadowfax, even though he didn't need to. What a guy!! He sanded the fretboard to make it like new and get rid of some un-evenness (sp??), oiled it up, etc etc... all for almost half what he originally quoted. He's definitely going to get ALL my repair business from now on, well that was secured already anyways, but
.
Leo said it was nice and lightweight, too WOOHOO!!
Here it is.

...it's a BONGO guard. So, I'll be trimming mine!!!

Man, what the hell?! That's insane. At this point, UPS should pay FedEx to ship it for him.Since Aaron's not been on here in a few days...
UPS lost his neck again, FOR THE SECOND TIME!!! We think it's the local crew down there in Alabama. But, it's just so hard to believe that they'd lose it AGAIN, after all that hassle.
Pat ended up using his CAR color sample to do my headstock.
Anyways, let's keep our fingers crossed for Aaron.

Yeah, I'm pretty sold on a black one (B/W/B 3 layer) and for fun.. an abalone.
Thanks, that's the kind of input I wanted. I'll make it look more balanced, even though (like I said) it doesn't raise any flags at all to my eye

Roger has some abalone material. Just sayin'...

They refuse to accept responsibility so I have no choice really.
I'm just gonna try it myself.
How much would it cost me to either pull my frets out and fix them or get new frets and place them?
Also i've heard about this kinda thing where upper frets buzzed being fixed by a truss rod adjustment, any ideas on this?
