Haha. I'm recording but getting a lot of buzz. Maybe cause i'm using the active barts and next to a computer screen. Let me try direct out, post EQ, ground lift, 0 db cut.

Sounding pretty good here though. *prays to win the sweetwater studio giveaway*




EDIT: Still getting ridiculous buzzing.


Anybody got any ideas? Going with a 700RB-II, direct out, Post EQ, Ground Lift, to TRS Male 1/8" into the back of my computer. Orange input configured to "Line In."

Should I try Mic in, instead? Using Realtek HD Audio if it helps any.

Yep, proper gain-staging is where it's at!

I set it to -25dB when I recorded. I got the same amount of buzz and quieter bass. So it may be my computer. That said, my other computer won't record anything so i guess i'm kinda screwed.



EDIT: I have found the ground lift reduces hiss from my amp, and just throws it into the recording. Turning of ground lift helps.

EDIT 2: Found the source.. It's these crap speakers.

Can your amp DI out run balanced or unbalanced? Seems like it might be am impedance mismatch somewhere to me... Though I can't listen to your clip at the moment. Stock computer inputs typically aren't the best for direct recording. you might have better luck with the mic input. Also, maybe try a TS cable instead of TRS.

The buzzing is not the speaker.

Ground lift eliminates a lot of buzz but there's still a ton.

I discarded the whole speaker thing and bought a Presonus Firebox. It's very quiet. Makes me want a nice DI like a REDDI or something, though.

But it's also really helped my relationship with the neighbours, so I guess it's all about the plusses...

I plugged it into audacity, added a treble boost. Guitar pro wouldn't be as sloppy as I was. :D

Near the end I was getting really off-beat and just stopped. I cut out the end accidentally too early but all is well.

Hahah, maybe the treble boost is causing it. Sounds kind of like a synth or something for recording video game music.
