I normally am as well, but for some reason with the design of the guard on these 44-01s, I prefer white. I have no idea why. On a regular Jazz Bass (or JO, or what have you), I prefer a tort.

I did for a while on the DJ5 I had. It has a great tone when kicked in, and the Z-modes do actually do something. I'm a passive bass guy and preferred the DJ without it, yet others swear by it, and rightfully so. It's just not my thing.
It's certainly worth trying out. If you don't like it, you may have to wait all of 5 minutes before it sells in the classifieds...
Yep, got a JZ3 on Blackie. I really dig their preamps, great passive uncolored tone, just more of everything that's already there & then some!

I appreciate the product, not the wait. When I was given an original ETA of January 09 for my Sonic Blue DJ and it wasn't delivered until about November 09.. that's a long time. My original ETA on my pbass was September 09 and the wait goes on. I know that things come up, and I have been waiting patiently, but the appreciation only comes on the product.
Yeah, I can't wait more than a week and a half.
But it's just that much sweeter when you get it.
