Let me check with the g/f, but Saturday night might be good for some Gino's. We're in the city, not the burbs. I'm going to drop a line to Carl and get a nice setup on my fretless, I think. Money isn't where it needs to be for me to worry about a refin on my natty DJ right now. We'll see.

I might have to avoid the Lakland shop so that I don't blow money!

OK, cool. The fact that you're in the city will make things work easier.

I know you're not going to avoid Lakland.;)

I was torn too, but after hearing the Decade...it's staying fretless. I can favor the rear pickup for more mwah and still get a nice thick tone. I really think it is the perfect fretless! Really nice and woody with the neck pickup favored too. Also....I like what the smooth board does to the Decade's looks. The body is so unusual...with this neck, it allows you to focus more on the body, the ebony really makes the gold pop, and the would tone with the flame really works well with the gold too. Tone wise though...it really is awesome! I'll take a new Decade photo and post it.

I got my copies of the LOG CD in the mail to-day. I've only had time to listen to a little bit, because right after work I had to haul my cookies to the studio for another mixing session (we're three songs from the end. whew...). Anyway, what I heard sure sounded good. I'll say more when I've heard the rest..

Is mine the only Canuck band on the disc, by the by?

I agree. Everyone sounded great!

Including my homies "The Blue Birds" with Adam Scovanner.

If it were not for Adam, I wouldn't be playing the bass. Period.

My wife and I used to go on Sunday's to Alan's Cafe and party with the Blue Birds.

I was so blown away by Adam's playing and his tone, I went and bought a bass.
He happened to be playing a Cherry Burst Lakland 5594.
I knew nothing about basses or playing the bass, but I knew I was gonna get exactly what Adam had.

And the rest, as they say is history...

The best party in Cincinnati happens every Sunday night at Alan's Cafe, with Adam rocking the bass!
