I like it, but I'd LOVE it with blocks!!!!!!

I thought about that...but I don't know...I think of blocks being more old school.

I don't think of them as old school, maybe BEM blocks, no guard & let the wood do the talkin!

I like that one, but I like more of a jazz shape on the lower horn.

You're not alone in that. the shape I linked is my fave, but I also found a bunch with a softer approach to teh curves near the knobs, which I didn't like, and a whole swack of 'guards more like what you've done in your image. Then f course, there are the Stingray style ones, which shouldn't be a surprise, I guess. I don't like 'em, though.

I find it cool just how many different 'guard styles people are finding to put on that bass body style

I like it too. Nice to see all the different shapes. I used to not like the mm style, but it is growing on me.

After listening to Erik Scott's fretless Decade...I was gassing! I also wanted a fretted bass to put flats on while having the same bass with rounds. The Decade in fretless just sounds so huge!! Now on the JO CSs...which should get the flats, the surfer (alder) or the MOJO (ash)?

Verrry nice, Markus! I'm sure you noticed Dan said he loves his fretless Decade. And the surfer with blocks looks as hot as I expected!

Here is my U.S. Lakland Darryl Jones with humbucking Chi's and custom JRetro preamp with coil taps. I love it but may sadly have to let it go soon. I need to make some upgrades in my studio and might need to sell it to come up with the cash. Boohoo...boohoo!

Man, I hope you don't have to sell it. That's such a cool bass! Looks great and it's truly one-of-a-kind. I'm pretty sure I've only seen one other jazz-style bass from Lakland with humbucking Chis in it; the guy was part of Conan's band, I think.

Does anyone know when Lakland switched to Hansen pickup for Darryl Jones bass?
Luke's right, it was 2007. Early in the year, I believe. (I know Doug picked up his Hanson-loaded DJ early in the year.) Actually, it might have been late '06 when they made the switch.
