Just looking for a little feedback. I have a 44-02 ( plays like a dream ) that sounds pretty good but it's a little subdued for my taste. It has the LH3 pickups that I installed but the Bart pre is still in.

Anyone have any real thoughts on how different getting the LH3 preamp installed would make it tonally. Obviously subjective but I'm looking for a tiny bit of "gank" that seems to be missing. It records really well but sounds just a touch sterile.

Hanson Musical Instruments wants to thank Lakland founder Dan Lakin for his vision and stewardship of the Lakland brand, which he founded in 1994 with Hugh McFarland.

Now, I could be reading things into this, but it sounds suspiciously like Dan has made his exit ?

I'm still dreaming of a Hollowbody 5, have been ever since the days when the Dudepit was a big happy family, and the HB5 was supposed to be on the distant horizon.

Having been a fan of Lakland for a long time....I've got this eerie feeling like it's January 1965 and CBS just bought a company called Fender...and goodbye Leo....

Not really. It's not some big conglomerate taking over, it's people that have been involved with the company for a LONG time.
