Falls right to hand, completely natural, and has a perfect amount of extra on the far sides of B and G.

I'm not gonna miss the Sadowsky Metro RV5-PJ I sold to fund this, even a tiny little bit.

Glad you like it.
It really is a great bass.

Boy, me and the 535 didn't bond, even a little bit. It was a fabulous piece of craftsmanship and I highly respect MT's work...but dang, the tone palette just wasn't even close to being my thing.

My 535 is the only fretted bass that gets to hang with my Lakies (Also have a couple fretless still; Pedulla Pentabuzz, and Bee Queen Bee). What wood combo was your 535? The craftmanship is insane on those basses.

I was worried that the 535 would be too modern sounding for me, but I can actually dial a pretty wide gamut of tones. I didn't get one with all the crazy wood combos though, which prob helps... it's pretty traditional, with a maple/rosewood neck/fretboard.

Not sure exactly what it is (probably a combo of things), but it is the easiest bass to play out of the 15 I've owned... with my 55-94 and newer 55-02D in a very close second and third.

That puppy flipped right out of my arsenal to someone who is really happy with it...as it should be!

I like this bass really well so far, and have posted some comments over in the lakland megathread if you care to go read them.

My first US Lakkie, and she seems to be pretty much what I'd hoped for so far.

The 535 can be a "modern" sounding with bass without a nod to the traditional.

I had a MTD ZX5, almost 2 G's I paid for that bass.

It didn't last 6 months...

That's 5.3 months longer than the 535 stayed with me.
Again: stunning bit of artisan grade work-totally not my thing.

Which is fine: I got some other great choices that are my thing.

We're lucky bassists anymore.
Coming up, back in the day, choices were "J or P"
