He's probably thinking about John's new toy.....
Nah, I literally picked it up--and fooled around with it.Oh....I see...On the Link Removed Doude said you picked up a nice BG, and I assumed he meant you bought it.
Never mind haha
For the Star Wars geeks, 'cause you probably don't venture into OT...

Ah yep, I know the one you mean.
On a related note, Branden, why did you get rid of it?
Yesterday I walked into a music store and played a 55-01 for about a half hour and loved it....
The necks on my 2 55-01 basses never move. Regarding the electronics in the -01 series basses, I love the tone of the stock Bartolini MK-1's. Some think they are too 'aggressive', but a lot of that depends on technique and string choice. I find they give a very good modern sound with an edge that really works well in any style of music. For what it's worth, my 44 and 55 -01 basses get more use on average than my 44-02 Deluxe. I just really like the tone of the -01 basses.

The segment starts at the 38-minute mark (the last marker on the timeline).
Excellent job, Branden, you guys sounded great! The Glaub was sounding right-on through that white Aggie rig. And hey, you got to meet the Jonas Brothers.![]()
Milky: Didn't I get you one already?
guess not.....you are lucky #346. been 2 months to the day that I gave out the last LOG number....
come on guys...we need to reach 400!

YES, a 55-94 and my "goto" bass... also my first Lakland, bought off eBay without ever even touching or seeing a Lakland in person. That's another love at first sight story that I've told time and time again...
Here's a crappy pic w/ fingerprints and such. The cover was just laying there for fun. Sadly, Traci is my least photo'd Lakie.

and sorry, you can't try a "couple" of my basses!!!I already told you that you have to play ALL of them d@mnit!!!
Haha, the Tele would end your search for the perfect P, and be the end of the Spicerack. I can't have that on my conscience!!
really? You REALLY think I don't know what my fretboard is made of?
Just kidding... I talked w/ Kevin probably 3 times before he had Leo ship it, and he confirmed that it's rosewood (I too thought it was ebony). It just photo'd a little darker is all. It has that distinct look of rw, all those tiny grain openings that look like tiny cracks, looks like it came from the same tree as Goblins fretboard.
I haven't posted any pics in a while, so im posting this pic of my JO-CS, origianlly made for Tim Commerford of rage againt the machine( for those of you that dont know the story behind the bass) with custom 1.6" neck
