Yeah...that's how I feel. It's a different personality than the dark trans brown would have been, but now that is has the DS and I have Mr. Pink...it all worked out perfectly. Love the cream too, but that DS sings with flats. Really love Lakland's P pickup. It's tied for me with the DS. Glad I can go back and forth...would be a tough to pick!

Maybe Fred Hammon can work up a cream cover for the DS.

I'm definitely interested in the MM/P pickup config, but I placed it according to the space remaining between pickguard and bridge ... only afterwards realising the MM pickup was much closer to the bridge than in a 55-94/02.

If I was going to go for that pickup config, I think it would have to be a modified 55-02 rather than the P body shape.

You can ditch the pickguard, go w/ the metal half "C" control plate/cavity cover Link Removed , and put your MM pup as close as you want to the P pup...

That's a good thought. I would have said a P without the pickguard looks wrong (personal thing, don't expect everyone to agree) but that curved plate might keep enough of the P aesthetic to keep me happy. I'd need a pre with stacked knobs to have the equivalent of a 55-94 (J-retro or Audere would fit the bill I think).

Next time I have a whole Friday evening to spare I might do another mockup
