yeah, once my travels slow down, I will get it in for a neck and headstock refinish, and hopefully get a JO with a B and B neck too! Then a decade and a HB and................................

Congrats on the promotion!!! Nice family lineup.

Are you interested in upgrading your 55-01D to a 55-02D Cherry SunBurst with Maple FB and Bart pups?

You don't want your 55-01 feeling left out now do you...

Beautiful bass, but as you see, I already have a 55-02D with a maple board. Although mine has the LH3. Amber is quite an amazing girl! The things on my GAS list right now...are a CHI'd DJ or JO, a Scheff 5 (if those even exist....lol), and i dunno....everything else.

Congrats on the promotion!!! Nice family lineup.

I'm growing to like playing fingerstyle funk in the passive mode of my 55-94. Who would expect from me! Bridge coil, pan at 10-11 o'clock isn't exactly the sound in my head (a bit shallow when at 10; a bit less burpy at 11), but it's very close, and does the deal when in the mix. I like it better than in active for that purpose.
Why, I might end as adept of the passive bass O_o

Also, I learned there's a reggae band in my town. I'd love me some reggae...

Hey guys....I am home! I found out while I Was gone that I got a promotion and will be relocating to Chattanooga, TN. I am about an hour south of there now, so not a huge deal. Played my 55-01D through my Genz rig and it sounded great. I am still going to mod it as it has some pre-amp issues. I should have a new family pic posted soon. Also, if anyone knows of any Chi'd Jazz basses that may be up for sale, let me know.

congrats!!!! about time they gave you a promotion! Does this mean a transfer to Chicago is out?

A-pardon me Bama, is that the Chattanooga choo-choo?

He he he!!!! BTW - was scared there for a moment.."Bama" is pretty close to O'Bama.... And We ALL know how I feel about him :)

Ohh hey guys.! I just received my chrome metal knobs and I changed it as soon as I got a flat head screwdriver..

Here's the outcome..

those look sweet!!!!

What a beauty....although I am a fan of the standard knobs. Love the grain on that one. I wonder if I should trade Amber for one like that. I am a sucker for rosewood (Amber is maple) and it would match my fretless perfectly. GAS!!!!

DON'T DO IT!!!! If you REALLY MUST have a rosewood neck...order one from Leo.....that is one light and sweet bass!!!

I would sell you the one from my JO5 but I want to keep it for variety...

BTW - there is ONLY one AMBER and John has it....yours is Amber SouthEast! he he he!!!

Or, you could try one of the following indicator methods:
1) Use a gig to hold the knobs and drill press to drill a very shallow 1/6" Dia. hole and fill with black touch-up paint or even dark colored crayon - wipe off excess.
2) Use a hack saw to cut a small slot into the corner from the top to the side of each knob.

Either way, this would provide a permanent mark for use as an indicator.

Sounds like WAY too much work and precision for me!!! Just use a Sharpie to mark the dot....done...easy like!

here are some new family pics.
