what about the SBMM R35 you were drooling about? ;)

BTW, just occured to me. Since Cort makes Skylines, Tributes, Sterlings by MM (and Squiers VM and CV?) and does it well, you can now make a nice collection of great sounding basses and not be homeless. Couldn't happen 5-7 years ago

got fancy belts or somepin'? You have to be bald, redheaded, a laklandtradeaholic, have OCD, shiny pants... or be a Doude to be talked about. The least you can do is to be natural born russian, ukrainian, pole or australian.
Man, do you at least have a lightsword or a stormtrooper's helmet in your drawer?

This pretty much sums up what the talking here is all about. ;)

Hahaha, well summed up Denis. Who has shiny pants btw?

Hello gentlemen! Long time no post. I can't be on here w/o my bass it gave me too much anxiety. Now that she's home from pat with a new paint job (pics later) I can come back!

I've sent lakland some emails but they're probably too busy to respond so I'll ask you guys. What hipshot tuner with the extender would work for my 55-94?
I want to be able to tune my low string on the fly and I'm pretty sure the holes here taper so I'll need a specific one I think

I'd call Hipshot first, I'd bet they'd know right away, which tuners are used on Lakie 55-94s, and which D-tuner fits.

awesome....JJ is a pretty swell guy except for that bar he took me too. Still having some nightmares. Did you get to play the 51?

HA!! Shows what you know! Me and Milky (Chris) actually met and ate at the same place a few weeks ago... several VERY nice hotties there that evening!

He played the Tele, but it was pretty apparent that he seemed more of a humbucker guy. The 51 may have the humcancelling split Fralin, but she still has that single coil Tele p'up tone, big time! I love her!!

But did he try to spoon with you?:eyebrow:
Umm... it was my italian greyhound that I offered to allow you to spoon with, should you come visit. Your Alzheimers is flaring up old man. ;)
welcome to the lakland madness!
Jody has a great collection indeed

No, Shadowfax can't go yet, she has some cruel experiments yet to go through ;)
Thanks Denis. After hearing how good Shadowfax sounds (I haven't been playing her due to the pickup hum issue... pretty much un-noticable) I'm leaving her alone and I'm gonna start playing the hound out of it!

Boy Denis, you were on a roll, lol!!

I have a shaved head... does a black belt count as fancy? I had to work for years to get it, hehe. And, I definitely qualify as a Star Wars geek... got Yoda on top of my amp, a stormtrooper and Vader bobbleheads for my pedalboard... guess I need some shiny pants next huh?

Yes the talent there was certainly nothing to sneeze at.

Thanks again JJ. I do think I prefer the sound of the humbuckers as that has been main type of bass for over 10 years. That Tele bass does seem to be something special though. You should really consider my offer on it too :hiding:

glad you dig it.
Did you get a new Sky? the list price is pretty close to what you could get a used US one for.
On the other hand, let the kid play his great bass and yet have a dream :)

There are NO used Laklands around here. In fact, sales are languishing according to the fella that sold it to us. The 44-94 is still sitting there. But yes, it is a brand new Sky. BTW what is supposed to come with them? A box? Tools? Anything?

Back to the point. The kid wants the USA, he can save up and go buy it. Keep in mind that we tried a half dozen different Laklands and this particular JO had the best overall balance and bang for the buck. But that 44-94 was something special.
