LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #46

Well, I can finally say that I have played some Laklands and they are everything they are hyped to be.

JEDIBASS invited me into his home tonight and didn't even try to murder me while I was there. He brought out his collection and let me pluck away for like 3 hours through his NV215 (where is the drool smiley??). I can definitely say the LOG bass is the bass for me. Hurry up and make it Lakland!

Seriously the 5 string necks were thick enough to not feel like a toy but still thin enough to feel fast and comfortable and to let my fingers stretch out and not cramp up. Goblin was amazing and the matching headstock is killer! If the BG5 is anything like that I will be ecstatic. His 55-94 felt incredible and even the fretless sounded pretty good with a hack like me playing it.

But far and away, Shadowfax was the cream of the crop. The Chi-sonics sounded terrifyingly terrific. The edginess and almost overdriven sound of the pickups sold me on it. Too bad there is no 5 string Skyline Decade, or Lakland may have even more of my money! I think I even managed to convince Jedi not to sell it (bad move on my part).

To sum it up, a HUGE thank you to Jedi for not murdering me and letting me play all your basses. Also, if you do decide to sell Shadowfax I will pay you $10 more than anyone else, I'll pick it up, and I'll even let you visit her sometimes ;)

Hello gentlemen! Long time no post. I can't be on here w/o my bass it gave me too much anxiety. Now that she's home from pat with a new paint job (pics later) I can come back!

I've sent lakland some emails but they're probably too busy to respond so I'll ask you guys. What hipshot tuner with the extender would work for my 55-94?
I want to be able to tune my low string on the fly and I'm pretty sure the holes here taper so I'll need a specific one I think

awesome....JJ is a pretty swell guy except for that bar he took me too. Still having some nightmares. Did you get to play the 51?

Excellent! I'm glad they lived up to your expectations. Sounds like you're well on board now. I see a JO or DJ with Chis in your future.:D

Yes I did. It looks incredible and sounds awesome but I'm just not that comfortable on a 4 string anymore. How did you like it?

Possibly but I'm not sure how much the Decade pickup placement had to do with the sound I was getting so we will have to see. I think I preferred Shadowfax over Sexual Chocolate which I think has Chis so I may need to figure out some way to get the decade placement. Of course, the 55-94 had that wonderful clear tone...So many basses, so little money! :hyper:

welcome to the lakland madness!
Jody has a great collection indeed

No, Shadowfax can't go yet, she has some cruel experiments yet to go through ;)

it seems Ive been forgotten, and I just got here..

:crying:

wah!!!! LOL

got fancy belts or somepin'? You have to be bald, redheaded, a laklandtradeaholic, have OCD, shiny pants... or be a Doude to be talked about. The least you can do is to be natural born russian, ukrainian, pole or australian.
Man, do you at least have a lightsword or a stormtrooper's helmet in your drawer?

This pretty much sums up what the talking here is all about. ;)

EVERY definition of "spoon" as a verb is scary...

Let me guess.
Spoon?

Lately I've been trying to play bass lines, chords and melody simultaneously. Took my bass lines for the big band off the shelf, where I have the chordings too. Pretty awkward so far... should've learned to play the piano, I have troubles with two-hands playing.
Interesting, some pieces seem to be MADE for two-hand tapping. Try Lil' Darling, for instance... sweeeeeet

Can't make the string action perfect though. It seems the relief is too small and the truss rod adjustment is set to its limit. Will keep on trying

All the hype is real. Just bought a JO Skyline for my kid. Busy gig schedule this summer, maybe he'll make enough to pay me back!

Simply a great instrument. Can't recommend it enough.

If you're sitting on the fence, I'll help you. The difference between a Lakland Skyline Bass and any other bass in it's price range is like the difference between a sharpened stick and a high powered rifle.

Yes, we played a USA. Even better. MUCH better price tag, too. He's a little scared to take it on the road, somebody could just walk out with it from one of the shows.

Go ahead and do it. You. Can't. Miss.
