hey Gordon, how is your JO5CS treating you?

I've been looking for the hidden 9v battery since day one... j/k

These ChiSonics are some very hot pups. You'd think the bass was active and require a battery.

The bass is immaculate in every way.

I now have a fretless hollowbody with Bart pups on the way for yet another high quality Lakland hand's on comparison data point.

BASSed on resent posts, this seems to be the month for tradin' Lakies. Let's hope this is a sign that the economy is taking a turn for the better... My fingers are crossed.

ooohhhh...is that a US HB?

Nice! Now I miss my HB AND my fretless Laklands!:crying::crying::crying:

Just got these two beauties..

The 44-60 Custom (Jazz) is waiting on a new pickguard, either tort or black. I'm leaning towards tort. And also most likely a pickup cover.

I'll post more pics and more of a review of them when I finally get my new pickguard.
Excellent! I think those burst JOs with blocks have been a little overlooked among all the limited editions this year, lookin' good!

Nice score, Gordon! Those babies are rare. Doug's gonna come in here and be all GAS-y over this one.:D

Glad that HB got a good home. I was awful tempted to bid on it, but reason and lack of bank account won the day.

Well, I'm glad you and the others sat back on this one. Seriously, no need to outbid fellow LOGers on the bay.

No fear, there's another fretted model that started out at $400 and has now passed the reserve mark at $750. It is however missing the truss rod adjustment cover at the head and has a minor ding mentioned.

Quoted excerpt from seller: "...This particular instrument is in beautiful condition with some very minor wear - the nut has been replaced professionally with what I believe to be a replacement bone nut, the truss rod cover is missing, and there is a small dent in the finish just above the strap button near the butt end of the instrument. These should be clearly visible in the photos (larger versions available upon request). Hard shell case is included. As I believe the case to be with all Lakland Skyline instruments, this one was made in Korea. Build quality is excellent..."

Check it out:

It will be interesting for me to see what this one goes for considering they are strikingly similar to each other. The main difference is the fretted/fretless neck as well as a few other details such as possible (not definitive based on description) Bone Nut upgrade, missing cover, and small ding at the heal.

Of course, with more than 2 days left, there's plenty of time for the remaining on to rise in cost.

Congrats, Jason! I don't know if you've seen the cherryburst finish in person before, but I really dig it.
I haven't, mostly because I've considered it a bit too flashy in the past. But as with all things Lakland, the more I look at pictures, the more I start liking things that were previously taboo for me.

One thing holds true... Photos do not do the Cherry SunBurst any justice. The Cherry (RED) color is deeper than what any photos reveal. The 55-02 Deluxe CherryBurst/Maple fretboard I had was phenomenal. When you walk past it, you could hear it calling your name.

With the other brands, you get the Forrest Gump's mother approach: "Like my mama always says... Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get..." In this context, "Brand-X" could be substituted for the word "Life".

Enjoy your new basses you receive today, Jason!
