WooHoo! I finally went and picked up my new bass. I will post pics tonight, but it is nicer than these pics show. Can't wait........stoooopid work makes me work a little everyday instead of playing with my lakies.

Just remember that "work" is likely what allows us to have such nice instruments to "play" with!!!

I've played every Lakland that I could get my hands on and the 2 that I own are an '02 55-01 that I've had since '02 and a 44-01 that I just picked up. There was a huge difference to me the second that I plugged in the 44-01 at band practice. I had been using a MIA Jazz bass, but the 44-01 just does it for me.

The 44-01 is natural with a maple fretboard, but I'm probably sending it off to be painted Candy Tangerine. :)

Oooh, nice! If you go that route, my suggestion would be Pat Wilkins, who does Lakland's US finishes. He's fantastic. Let us know how it goes!

Hey all! Awesome looking basses in here, that trans white would be AMAZING with a matching headstock IMO.

Now, onto more serious business...Any idea on when the sound clips for the LOG bass pickups will be in?

Also, I emailed Leo two weeks ago with my new address and I haven't heard anything back. Is this normal or should I hit him again?

Chi'd JO - all you ever need. Especially in a studio.
4-76 - something unique, and special.
4-94 Dual J - I'd be happy to take that one out live, comfortable in the knowledge that it'll sound good no matter what.

Coupla questions though: 1) Have you tried a tort pickguard on the JO? How'd it look?
2) Is the MM pickup on the 4-76 further from the bridge than the standard 4-94? Or is that just a trick of the camera angle?

And I've settled on what I regard as my absolute dream, do-anything bass.
A blue burst 55-94 fretless with a white pearl pickguard and a glockenklang three-band EQ.
There, I think I may have just given both myself and everyone else GAS. My work here is done!

thanks for the kind words.

1) i have not tried a tort gaurd, but TBer artiseasy has a jo with the same configuration, except his has standard jazz PUPs, there is a video somewhere.
2) on the 4-76 the mm pickup is actually a little further forward than a 4-94 , same as a true stingray.

Yeah...it's a mockup. Don't have an actual photo. I had it a little more creamy on my monitor, but John had me adjust it and add a little gray to it. Not sure how it shows up on your monitor.
