Love the Dunns! The CAR is so beautiful up close where you can see the metalflake.
Huge +1. I was rather so-so about the look of the Dunn until I actually saw one in person. Deep color with lots of pop, but not in a glamorous kind of way. Subtle from a distance, but rich and inviting up close. Wonderful!

Hey guys. I need some advice. I bought the last DJ4 from a dealer. New old stock, meaning a 2008 model, but brand new. Everything on it is great, but there's a good bit of fret buzzing, ad in notes "fretting out". Even at Lakland setup specs, it buzzes a good bit. There are several frets that are higher than others. Easy to find using a fret rocker. What would you guys do? Should I send in to Lakland for a Plek, paying for the service, or should I raise a flag with Lakland or the dealer and see what happens? It's bad enough to make the bass unusable for me, even beneath "Squier" standards of old if you know what I mean.

I don't want to be one of those customers that complains about things. But this is pretty bad for a bass costing over $1000. Hat do y'all think?

I would not hesitate to politely contact Lakland and report the problem. Their prices factor in customer service costs and it does no one any good to keep problems a secret. My .02

Agreed, that's far too much money for problems. And as I understand, their customer service is great. Is it still under warranty, buying brand new you should have that lovely gem :)

with Glockenklang being the most prestigious (mainly because they're so d**mned expensive!)

No, it is because of their sound. The price is a factor for SNOBS but you know we don't have any of those on TalkBass!.

Seriously, I LOVE my HeartCore and have never played through an amp I like as well - it is a HEAVY sucker, though.

Wasn't having a go at Glockenklang owners - perhaps 'exclusive' would be a better word to use than 'prestigious'.

BTW, do you think we could get away with abbreviating Glockenklang to $$$$GK$$$$ ?!

I'm SOOOOOOOOO in love with my month old 55-94

Well, I don't mind taking a whack at a snob but that's my limit...

I don't think your abbreviation would work - I have to play a GK at church that they paid $$$$$$GK$$$$$$ for and it is just not my cup of tea.

On a related note, I have always wondered why the word "abbreviation" was so long.
