Hey guys. I am about to get my first JO5. The original owner changed the control plate to a black one and I'm wondering about getting a chrome one, like the original.

Are the Fender plates the same dimension? Can I just get one from a Fender 4 and slap it on there? Will it fit? If not, how can I acquire the part?

Two things...I never loved those HB's for some reason...always thought they looked to much like a PRS, and I always take the pickguards off my basses unless they are screwed to the body itself, likke a P or J...But that Blue HB looks so stinking cool and the pickguard is a huge part of it...well done, sir!

really loving the whole light pickguard/ebony fretlboard thing....does it sound "grittier" with the ebony?
