Thanks, Gary!!!
I agree with the statement above with regards to plenty of nice basses shown thus far. I'm waiting to see more post up.
There's no doubt one would go broke just attempting to equal the Markus Stash of Laklands! Ha! Ha! The boy has many nice and unique basses.
I am considering modding one of my 55-94s to get a more Single coil kind of sound. I am going for the Nordstrand Big Spit kind of vibe that lots of folks are doing to their 5501s. Have any of you replaced pickups or modded your 55-94 in this way? Is there a chi sonic option that will give me this kind of sound?
I wouldn't cut into it, either. You could always trade that 55-94 for a gorgeous US Lakie with the same body shape and single-coil pickups. (I've played this bass and it's awesome.): http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/lakland-dual-j-relisted-new-pics-801683/I am considering modding one of my 55-94s to get a more Single coil kind of sound. I don't know, I think a Lakie is all the arm candy anyone could need or want.

The 55-02 fretted and fretless are stock (except for doude-inspired knobs on the cherry)
The 55-01 has Nordy dual-coils. This week, I put Mike Pope's FlexCore pre in (vol/bal/passive tone/stack bass-treble/stack lomid-himid), and added 3-way coil selection switches. Tonal bliss.
The 55-01 coil split/flexcore is funky, jazzy, dirty...I needed a little of that in my life.drpepper said:Good grouping!
So, with the upgrades, are you finding the 55-01 getting all of your time.

Nowhere near as cool as BassAgent, but I figured I'd go for an in-use pic this go 'round![]()
Showking:
pink is sweet!!!!
loving that bass!
wish Lakland would offer that lower horn on some basses but I guess they cannot...it is an "ESP" thing!
