After months of waiting financially I finally set some money aside and sent my Skyline 55-64 out to Pat Wilkins for a refinish. A finish shouldn't really keep me from playing a bass, but I just can't stand tobacco sunburst LOL.

It'll be a tough wait but I can't wait to see this baby in the darker transparent green from Pat's website.

Nice! Can't wait to see it.

It's been a while since the family got together for a picture & as usual in these gatherings it's not the best photo, but all behaved long enough to get one.

Cool man! Pat is THE man!!

I owned the LOG bass for a while and played several of the fender 5. I like the Lakland neck more mine had flats and the nordstand pick up. It can get a grindy punk sound or a thumpy old school sound. Unfortunately I needed money and sold it before I could break in the flats.

The weight and fit and finish are about the same imo. If i could have the bound and blocked neck with a white or burst body on a skyline I would buy again.

Nice!!!

I cannot wait to see it!

What's that little pickup cover on that 55-60?
I was wondering the same thing, I don't know if I like the look of it, the big one is better IMO... Might do that myself too. What I DO like is the stacked pots on the 44-60 Trans White. I'm still thinking about installing that on my fretless F*nder and 55-60..

Hey guys, any reviews on the 44-AJ, especially the skyline version with the bart pre amp? The search function doesn't work for 44-AJ. I'm looking for a second, more mellow bass to go with my 'ray and these have sparked my interest as I do like active electronics.

have not ignored your PM....sorry for the delay in getting you a number...you will get one tomorrow (numbers are on my work laptop....sorry!)

don't think the AJs will be "mellow"....nice sounding for sure though!

Maybe a vintage loaded P bass?
