Just kidding of course!
We are definitely overdue for a GTG here! There have been several staged at Lakland (including in 2009 and 2010) and they've rocked big-time. When the Lakland folks say they're ready to have one at the new place, we will let you all know and set the wheels in motion--hopefully this spring/summer when it warms up.

This is EXACTLY how the chi-sonics were invented (in my mind)...
I like to imagine this is how Carl Pedigo looks when the camera's aren't around, too...
BP,
Are they willing to sell to a consumer at will? Or will I have to perform unthinkable acts to get said bridgeI will ask nicely. On second thought, I will tell em' BassPraiser from TB sent me and he told me you would sell me a black bridge!!
yea yea yea....I AM getting another, that Scheff that lands tuesday next week from AZ.
And have two more U.S. Laklands in the works as we speak. the minute my 3 basses sell that are all listed right now for sale all over the place...I pull the trigger on the two additional US Lakies the same day. They are being held for me. Once I get the 2 additional US basses the Scheff might go up on the block? ya just never know? bwaaahahahaha!! ( mad scientist laughter )![]()
especially the ones that are like 5"9" with really hot foreign accents.....ooooo la la oui oui....HAHAHAH!!![]()
It's not like it's 4A quilt... and nothing compares to Marty's sparkle.
Never heard a person in the audience say "look at that quilt top" but M'Falice always gets remarks.
send a pm to Kinetic Shadow. he is on here ....scroll back a page or two to find his post. He has a Stealthy Skyline. He HAD a black painted lakland logo-ed bridge on it. I think he mentioned removing it for one reason or the other ....and selling it to someone else here.
But ask those guys...they can hook ya up with details and info you seek. good luck
FWIW, I played #156 (4494) at a GC here in the DFW metroplex. It's at the Plano GC if anybody's interested. It is in cherry burst with maple. The figuring on the body and neck is OK. It's not the best quilt top or BEM fret board I have seen. For a moment, I thought it was a prototype. It had the typical Lakland bridge, but the bridge did not say Lakland....the neck hardware was different. Instead of the ultra-lite Hipshots, it had exposed vintage style Hipshots. Also, the neck screws and washers are different than current production. Another thing that was different was the three-way toggle. The toggle on this bass wasn't like the blade toggle on current basses. This was more like an exclamation point shaped toggle. It has the Bart pre and Bart pups. The pups are worn down from string play. Aside from the wear on the pups, the bass in pretty good shape for a 97' model. They want $1700 for the bass (no case). I was going to offer them $1400. But the salesman ignored me for the last 1/2 hour I was there. So I said it 'f' it and left. I got a new Skyline JOBO in the way anyway. It was a nice bass though.....gotta love early Laklands.

Yeah I know, and to think she's hung around for 18 years plus and even took me to GC today to check out some gear.![]()
Thanks bro!! I will do that. Got a bad *** master plan for the JOBO I'm getting. Black hardware is on the list of must have's.
John told me they have T-Shirts in stock. They are the classic style. The gray ones with the Lakland wordmark and Basses in old school script.
Lakland owners group just sent me an email saying that an upgrade to a supporting membership includes this t-shirt. Hmmm.
Can I get a confirmation on this? This is the t-shirt that you would always see Dan wearing? I need to update my subscription and I have been wanting one of those shirts.
I think that was before....I got a care pkg from LOG already for supporting....it was a mouse pad and sticker sheet and cleaning cloth.....
I think I recall seeing they ran out of shirts and subbed these items instead.
I think within a few weeks this entire switch over should be wrapped up and done. At which point I can then settle in a bit more to my normal relaxed search mission mentality and not be so consumed and hectic.![]()

And a few pages back, there was talk of a little GTG action in Chi-town... hmmmm... My girl and I were talking about takin a trip out there in the summertime actually... hmmmmmm indeed.
So I'm more like Dr. Frankenstein?![]()

Just took ownership of a Lakland 5501. It was driving me crazy. FedEx runs everyday at my apt at 11-12. I see the guy and he leaves, then around 3 another FedEx truck comes and he leaves without giving me a package. I end up falling asleep and wake up with a sticker telling me its in my apt complex office building.
So...finally! I have it.
The bass is no lesser quality than the Korean one that I owned, I can tell you that right now. It's just as good if not better. A few finish flaws that I noticed with the Silver one I had are not present here. Neck pocket is super tight! B string actually sounds really good. Not sure what strings are on it but they aren't bad at all. Def. feels like a quality bass and doesn't sound bad at all through my practice rig. I can only imagine how it'll sound with some electronics modding.
Only problem...
I guess I've been playing Music Man necks for too long as this neck feels really big in my hands. I'm not a small guy either and I don't have a problem playing it but it def. feels more bulky than those slick MM necks. I think the fb radius may be different as well. Hmm...

Gettin' swamped by a Doudewave here...
Second time in as many nights. Somebody's clearly not travelling on business at he moment.
I got that same packet when I paid my supporting membership dues. Nice mousepad and cloth, but I'd look weird trying to cover my girlie bits while running nekkid down the street. T-shirt would be a better cover-up.
