The neck pup will make some odd noise or buzz when my fingers touch it.
It does this all the time.
But is most loud and noticeable when the tone control(s) is/are set to the most treble setting.
Also when the "dark switch" or smaller toggle is flipped forward and the highs are cut back it is barely noticed when touching the bridge pup.
But when that switch is flicked to the back of the bass and the treble is back to normal it once again is more present.
When I touch the bridge pup, nothing like this takes place at all.
It seems to only be present with the neck pup.

These Darkstars where ordered by Lakland for the original owner and where installed by Lakland at their factory.
So I know the pups are legit and the install was top notch.

Any thoughts on what this could be? Or what could be done to correct it?

Yea thinking I will give those a try on the decade...and the pressure wounds on the HB as per your advice man.
Will most likely order them up tonight or tomorrow.

that Scheff truly is a sweet deal...unreal it did not sell the first day.

Hey guys, I thought you guys might like to hear some tracks from a session I just finished, I used my Lakland 55-60CS into an A-Designs REDDI Tube DI. It's kinda like if Miranda Lambert recorded an album with the Foo Fighters.

Just got my first Lakland, an '02 44-02 with the Bartolini pups and preamp. Still in the honeymoon phase but this is the most comfortable bass I have ever played. It kills my Warwick Streamer, Carvin LB70P and USA Ibanez ATK. If I still feel this way in a month or two, I may consider selling all of the others and going 100% Lakland. I can't get over how the 44-02 can cover all of the ground of my other basses. FREAKING AMAZING!!!

Nice! I love the cherry-burst finish.

I feel the same way about my 02, it really can do pretty much any sound you want. From the 3-band EQ, passive mode, pickup blend, coil tap, and the internal mid-freq selection via the dip switches... If you can't find a sound you like out of one, something is wrong with you.

Congrats, nice grab! Laklands are so darn comfortable, they let me relax and focus on playing. Love the cherryburst, too, and the versatility of the 44-02 is remarkable.

Hi.

My first Lakland arrived yesterday! :hyper:

I live in probably the only civilized country in the world without a Lakland AD (Norway), so I had never heard of Lakland basses until I discovered talkbass a couple of years ago. After that I've been reading a lot about them, and have been GASing after one for a while. I've been looking at the classifieds, and about a week ago I found what I considered to be a really good deal, so I took the chance and bought it without ever having tried a Lakland. :D

The bass has been featured here before, as it has earlier been owned by two members of this group (?) - Mr Matt and Smallequestrian.

Own a piece of history, Misty the Nashville flood restoration is up for sale!

Her beautiful Burgundy Mist alder body & knobs are all that made it through the devastation.

With a little help from Leo, Bo & Carl at Lakland she’s been given a makeover & a 2nd breath of life.

Retrofitted with a Skyline neck (same year as the body ’08), Hanson Vintage P pickup, new pots, pickguard, used bridge & finished off with a set of US all chrome Ultralites.

She’s super light weighing in at 8.3 lbs on the digital scale, but doesn’t sound like a feather weight at all, big beefy classic P bass tone with all the trimmings.

All the superficial battle scars were left for character & tribute.

Spec recap:
US Alder body in Burgandy Mist
Skyline Decade neck 1.5" Jazz (Plek’d!)
Hanson Vintage P pickup
US Hipshot Ultralites & D-Tuner (all chrome)
New passive electronics

I got to play it about an hour yesterday, and it's really a fantastic bass. It looks almost like new, and even with the shipment from the US to Norway and Norwegian taxes it's still a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than an MIA Precision. It is one of the best basses I've ever tried, and by far the best I've owned.

I haven't had the time to take any pictures yet, so I'll just have to show the pictures from the classifieds. I'll be away on business a few days, but I'll take some new pictures next week.

I have to travel to Stavanger a few times yearly and I always go to the music stores when I get the chance. I never realized it until you pointed it out, but all that I have ever seen was Gibson, Fender, Ibanez and yamaha.
