For those who have the Bartolini setup: How dramatic of a volume difference do you have when switching from active to passive? Mine is very significant. Should I simply adjust the gain trim, which is full on, or could there be another issue?

Done Deal Neal :)
Just paid up for the next US Lakland to land in New Yawk on the FedEx truck.
A one of a kind US Darryl Jones in sonic blue with dual Chi humbuckers.
Birdseye maple board, White Pearl blocks and white binding.
BIG thanks to my good friend Projectapollo.
Looking forward to giving her a good new home.
She leaves the south on Monday!

Thanks! :)
I cannot remember when I saw a more "pretty" bass...
Almost too pretty? hahahah
But it is cool and really unique and will be a cherished Piece for sure.

You could name this one "Little Boy Blue." Although it does kind of remind me of those blue tuxedo's from the 70's with the huge white ruffles. But very nice Dan, good score... again :)

hahahah yea reminds me of that too...
like something in a 50's do wop band with the bad tuxes and hair styles....hahaha!!
THAT is what I like about this one...
cool retro vibe....passive humbucker chisonics...
Never played a bass with binding on the neck, something new and different.

Have a bound neck on my MIA Jazz Deluxe and it is quite nice, easy on the fingers. Although, my 44-02 was dressed so well it feels just as good ;) Staying on topic. :ninja:

Realized I've NEVER shown you guys my bass, and what with the re-release of the DJ, and the fact we haven't seen one in a while, here's a nice Lake Placid Blue 4-stringer to whet your appetites...

Cheers,

well looking forward to trying the bound neck.
Not sure about this one?
Leave it passive?
Or put it back to active again?
Time will tell.
( staying on topic ) :ninja::cool:

Active... but give her a try first. Don't expect a jazz bass sound. It may look sorta like a j bass, but Chi-bucks are WAY different from those kiddie toy single coils lol.

Thanks for the concern JJ, my friend....
Addiction? Naw....
Curiosity maybe :D
hahahah!!

The plan was 5 specific US Laklands added.
This DJ and one more in the works on the hush.
All should be wrapped in a week or two.

Then I will be in Lakland Remission for awhile. :hiding:

One good thing is I had a bunch of killer basses to sell to fund this US Lakland quest. So barely any real out of pocket to do it all.

Yea I hear ya loud and clear.
Actually might end up leaving this DJ and the Decade passive.
Kinda cool having two passive basses.
My 44-07 has active chi buckers....
so having this DJ stay passive might be cool.

The Hollowbody is passive too.
BUT, that has dual Darkstars in it...
So passive or not, that sucker will level a house! :bassist:

Been there and done it lol... you're full blown bro and in denial! Luckily, there's only so many models to get/try.... then it's on to the "one of" basses. Been there too, haha. It's a fun ride man.
