I still am too new to the brand to know which I like best...sure I will figure it out at some point.
Oh that's easy... All of them
I'm also considering getting a fretless neck put on the HB, and maybe see about a piezo down the line.

Sweet--I love those LPB DJs.View attachment 247720
Realized I've NEVER shown you guys my bass, and what with the re-release of the DJ, and the fact we haven't seen one in a while, here's a nice Lake Placid Blue 4-stringer to whet your appetites...
Cheers,

I hope so, but I'll believe it when I see it.Doing this right...
I for sure will put this on cruise control for awhile after this last one comes in in a few weeks.
Ypu've seen that Bass Emporium demo clip, right? The singles can get nice and growly.Yeah, I imagine it'll sound pretty similar to the Darkstars after the transplant. Still retaining the nice fat lows but maybe a bit more clarity.
I never truly got a sense of how it sounded with singles, even though it had the push/pull single-coil mode, since the bridge pickup was bugged out.
P basses shall always be passive. So let it be written, so let it be done.Hmmm... has me thinking about the fretless configuration. Anyone ever used any of John East's pre's in a Lakland? Have one in my P and it kills.

Here ya go: Lakland Hollowbody Bass Demo - YouTubeI haven't!
Got a quick link? Or is it easy to find on their site?
My HB w/ the Chi-humbuckers felt like one of these:

Anxious to hear it with the singles![]()

Son of A!Great looking bass, bad timing. Need to pay off a Modulus I'm having built that I have already paid a non-refundable deposit on, then comes the fretless Lakie. Must stick to the plan, fighting urge to blow budget. Red Leader stay on target, stay on target.

Shipping my HB back to Lakland to have the humbucker Chi's switched out for some single-coils this week. Little nervous about shipping my baby off... but I'm pretty pumped to hear the results.
For anyone who ships these regularly, how much does it usually run you for ground shipping?
IS this bass allowed in the LOG thread?

In the beginning stages of some recording. Figured I'd share a rough sketch I recorded recently with the good ol' 44-02. Drums are just a loop until I can figure out something more specific to use. I'm also in the process of adding in some organ accents. But the "theme" is bass-driven on this one.

Very lounge-y, jazzy type feel![]()

Just got my first Lakland, an '02 44-02 with the Bartolini pups and preamp. Still in the honeymoon phase but this is the most comfortable bass I have ever played. It kills my Warwick Streamer, Carvin LB70P and USA Ibanez ATK. If I still feel this way in a month or two, I may consider selling all of the others and going 100% Lakland. I can't get over how the 44-02 can cover all of the ground of my other basses. FREAKING AMAZING!!!
